When Grapevine says 1% of India's Top professionals, does that mean I should earn 53LPA 🥹

Yes, they mention it in disclaimer, it is too niche. Life is not that simple

20 lakh is threshold income for entering in top 1% . 53 lakh is average income of all those people who are in top 1%

If I earn 20LPA from salary, I will be 1%?

SqueakyPickle
SqueakyPickle

Yes.... Income wise, you would be in top 1% if you earn rs 20.74 lakh to be precise...

However wealth wise, you need to have total accumulated wealth of rs. 81.6 lakh to be in top 1% .

Top 0.001% = 1.5 lakhs have annual income of more than 50 crore. Now, let that sink in before you post bragging about your 1 crore milestone everywhere

1 cr is nothing in today's world 🥲

Dam 1% is really poor in this country.

ZestyQuokka

Well this is just "income", not the income that money generates further. Which must be multi folds

Try offering consultations to people who want to increase their 🍇 and I bet you can become top 0.00001% too.

Is this pre tax or post tax?

ZestyQuokka
ZestyQuokka

Good question, though it is not mentioned
Should be post tax that way numbers can be compared. The poorest aren't paying taxes so doesn't make sense if it is pre tax

Lots of people in rural regions keep their income undocumented. But they have crores in the bank and tens of crores property

ZestyQuokka
ZestyQuokka

Highly unlikely they have chores in bank, else would have been accountable
They keep it as cash hence we think rural is poor
