Is it better to resign or getting fired from work? Does it come up in background checks later?
It does come in background check as ‘reason for leaving’. They mention Terminate in experience certificate. So, it is better to resign if you want to continue in corporate. If doing startup etc then get fired and take severance.

To me it seems better to let them fire you, and enjoy the severance pay. But what are the disadvantages of doing this? Why do so many people voluntarily resign?
