I am a 30 M , got married in 2020 and clearly the marriage was not working out. My wife and her mother was always finding ways to control me from the beginning with all the little things and my wife started this drama like with every fight she used to leave the house and stay at her mother’s and not comeback until all the parents gets involved and me asking sorry, one time she left the house because I cooked the curry and had asked her to do roti this turned into a fight and just for that she left the house. And her mother threatened me that she won’t send her daughter back until I ask sorry. There were LOT of these instances and at one point I really got fed up and started standing up for myself, in the last fight she said she won’t come back again and I said please don’t I am also tired of this. After a month she started reaching out to me asking sorry and apologies and all but I had lost all trust in the relationship and I wanted sometime. Even if I let her in her mother would have ruined the relationship again , so I asked her since I have no trust you have to agree on that in future if we get divorced if we have kids the kids stay with me and I won’t pay any alimony. Following this discussion she lodged a fake domestic violence and dowry case against me and my family. And I filed for divorce after I seeing police station and all. I have all the evidence to prove that I am innocent but the court is taking very very long time and now she is asking for for a huge amount only the she will agree for divorce 😣
This has been dragging from past two years and am done with my life, I can’t date anyone even though am 30 I have maintained myself in a healthy way so that I look a bit younger but because of the case is still going on… I don’t know what to do
You don't bargain with the devil dude. Shouldn't even think about having kids with such toxic women.

@Deadpool93 rule no 1 .never trust your lawyer he will never let you win the case even if you have 1000 proofs against her ..they want settlement for huge money so take they can get some share out of it.
Some behaviour patterns of lawyers in matrimonial cases
1..he will never want to put your points on paper.
2..he will un necessary delay your things like filing applications / petitions
3..even if he files your application after 1000 request he will not put actual facts
4..he will mix with other party and give your information to other party
5..he will say relax this is very normal but he will ask opposite party to do wrong things against you
Thank god atleast lawyer is our family friend and I know him from childhood, he is playing every trick in the book to resolve as quick as possible. Not even accepting fees
That's good, I hope he is working in your favour But sometimes some lawyers don't charge money just to win your trust and they keep dragging the cases more than usual or make your case weaker so that you end up paying the money to settle the case out of frustration so be cautious.

Life fked hence the reason I'm scared of marriage and I just leave the house and go for drive as soon as my parents being that topic out. I know they want good future for me and see me building my family and I want to do it as well but stories like this scare the absolute living shiet out of me and I'm not demonizing women I know some men also who are toxic.

More reason to not get married Inwouls rather adopt a kid and give it a best life possible as a parent and not bother with this concept. Maybe physical or emotional support might not be there but it is what it is. I'm already damaged a lot by my childhood trauma hence the reason I was obsese and no girl would talk to me and I have never been in a relationship almost 29 now and I think that I have been alone for so long that it doesn't really matter anymore.

Lawyers will always look to delay judgement and increase hearings so as to make more money as fees. Maximum number of times they will ask you to do out of court settlement by paying money.
Just live seperately .. see who blinks first for divorce atleast u will be saving the time wasted on courts
being a wife make her the legal heir. So, living separately doesn't affect her in any way. She will have all her fun and still end up enjoying all the hard work of the Husband.
