Bangalore is an over-rated city
"Macha why do you like Bangalore? Weather bro." These tech bros can't stand normal weather, but will go through shitty infra, traffic, hooliganism, and what not for slightly better weather.
No city is perfect in anyway. There's PROs and CONs (read good and bad) to each and every city, the people, as well as to those who're coming from other places to live there

I like living in Bangalore because my gf and I can stay together. Not a fan of the were ether coz it's too cold for me during winters.
Most of my friends (college buddies) live in Bangalore, not because they work from office over here but because they've already been from here.
More things to do in Bangalore compared to my native (idk about other cities), again coming from a person who doesn't drink, smoke or party.
So in short, it's not the weather alone buddy.

Bangalore/Bengaluru is not an over-rated city. Period.
Wants reasons?
I'll give you not 1 but 3:
1. Highest Paying City
Whether you are a techie, marketer, or any other white collar professional, Bengaluru companies pay way more than any other city, including Hyderabad, Gurugram, and Pune.
2. More Than Weather, Kannadiga People Are Way Nicer
If not for the hospitable nature of Kannadigas, Bengaluru wouldn't be what it is today.
Stray incident aside, if you think rationally, Kannadigas are amongst the best people in this country.
In Bengaluru, lots of people from India's North-East live freely without worrying about racism or eve-teasing. All thanks to hospitable people of Karnataka.
3. Quality Private Institutions
Schools, Colleges, and Hospitals. Bengaluru is home to finest of these institutions.
I can write on and on about what makes Bengaluru a fabulous city, but these 3 things should give you some idea.

Kannadigas are hospitable? 😂😂😂
Nice joke bruh, anyone who lives in blr a few years can see just how "hospitable" they really are.
Maybe you have a nice circle, good for you. But kannadigas aren't nice and they wouldn't destroy public property if they were.

Agreed. Bangalore is the worst city right now.
No transportation, Heavy Traffic, Racist people.
I'd prefer Mumbai anyday over Bangalore

Kitne grapes kamaye aise controversial post se?
We got a cliche chomu here. Hope you got those grapes.
With all its problems Bangalore is still most sought after. Stomach that if you can else feel free to get the hck out.
If you can't, suck it up & move on.
Atleast begin to contribute to making the city better.
Get some voting rights here first, learn the fckin local language & be part of the culture & influence the shyt around u. Be something other than a weak n useless mumbler with absolute 0 value.
You don't necessarily dislike Bangalore. You dislike what you have been shown about Bangalore, by a certain section of folks, living in certain pockets of this city. And your frequent interactions with them have led you to conclude that this city is over rated. Sure this city has nothing else to offer besides traffic, drinking culture, weather and abundance of high paying jobs. This no city by the sea, there're no massive expressways (it just opened recently) to zoom you away to neighborhood destinations, there's no nightlife beyond 12 (unless you know where to go)
But trust me you haven't even explored the city or its neighborhoods beyond what your bookmarked feeds/tweets/recommendations from college network who moved here have showed you. There's a lot more here than what meets your eye
Do give Shoba Narayan's columns a read to understand the city better. Her columns are solely written to make newcomers understand this city

And Hindi chauvinists..
I don’t like Bengaluru because I don’t see growth opportunities here. It’s great if you wanna climb the corporate ladder. The city lacks warmth and a feeling of community. Community leads to business opportunities. So, you can just be a corporate slave here unless you have a shit load of money or be a startup bro.
There’s no place to rewind and relax, only noisy bars, cafés and clubs.
I would like to go for a long drive on the weekends but such a drive will just boil my blood in blr because of the traffic and lack of natural beauty.
I want to live in a home not an apartment. Seems Impossible in BLR
I want to go out but I avoid it because the traffic makes me crazy.
Hope to move to a Tier 2 city asap.

A lot of people hate Bangalore because it's not their hometown, they would love to get Bangalore salaries in their home towns

If Delhi and ncr are so awesome why are people heading to blore in hordes? I can safely say blore attract more tech crowd than them. So all of them are wrong.

I'm here for the higher salaries, the weather, and the peer group of software engineers. The biggest advantage of being in Bangalore is that my learning has happened almost by osmosis because I had the opportunity to work with some really awesome people in the past. I think the quality of engineers like pune and hyderabad is lower than in Bangalore
