10 years in a company means, you will likely end up with lesser ctc. Better to switch whenever possible. Applies to India especially where increase in cost of living is through the roof.

Staying in a company for any duration by itself is not a reflection of a personā€™s ability. If the pay and perks are good and you are satisfied, staying with an organisation can be a valid option. I have been with my current employer for 14 years, i have made a lot of internal switches and have had a lot of upskilling opportunities. I have also had a 20% hike or promotion every second year. A lot of tech leads and junior managers i started out with are pretty high up in leadership today and they vouch for me when i have an opinion.

Suggestion on company shifting

Will there be a bad impression on my resume ,if I switch 2 companies within 4 years (2yrs in 1st company,2yrs in current one).And if I'm planning to switch company now ,with this 4 yrs of experience. PS : There is level progression throughout this shifting process (Associate-> SDE1 -> SDE2)

Does swtiching really help?

I AM NOT TALKING MONEYYY. I understand most of you who have switched is either for financial reasons or maybe change in role or work or even bad boss. I am talking about an angle from where your work is good, team is good so is culture. And most importantly you are being respected and have amazing peace of mind, stress free life.Yes salary might be low, but again there never will be a limit where some should stop and not ask for more money. I am at this point, where pay is decent and genuinely donā€™t feel to switch. But itā€™s just that people everywhere are talking about switching, and comparing that this guy earns more than you. People are like you should switch and earn more money etc. But havenā€™t found anyone who feels the same as i do. In good place where I am. What do you think?

Does switching companies frequently a bad thing ?

Hi Folks, so one my friend tells me that if you keep changing jobs / companies as frequently as within a year or so it creates bad impact of us and the chances of getting hired by other companies are less. Does this really effect on our resume or career? Does Hiring Managers check this as point before selecting any candidates ? Really wanna know as if we donā€™t switch we canā€™t survive in this companies for the salary they pay us.

Effect of Job switch in long Run

In my nearly 2 years of experience i have switched two companies now in my third company, i am not getting quality work and ownership. What should I do shall I try to switch or stay here and wait for the right time when I will get quality work and ownership.If i switch now then how will it affect my career in the long run.Anyone please help me on this what should I do. i am currently in the third company for past 5 months now.
