I am 24 F and not currently working. I got laid off from my first job with 9 months of work experience. I did DSA and applied to various companies, got shortlisted and cleared few rounds as well but after facing few heart crushing rejections i don’t feel like preparing any more. I have never been excited by the idea of working for a big MNC(people my age have their dream companies listed and are working towards it). Somehow this isn’t my calling and i am totally lost because i have not been working for the last 5 months.
I strongly believe that there are few things we are naturally good at(I might be wrong here). Ever since my school days i have been a hard working person and have taken things very seriously. But now in this phase when i should be working hard, i dont feel like doing it, probably because i am doing something that doesn’t excite me.
I somehow feel i am naturally good at networking, meeting new people,connecting with people at once, building things from scratch.
Has anyone been through the same phase? I would highly appreciate any suggestions/advice. HELP ME OUT GUYS!!

In my unemployment phase ~6Months, this was one of my biggest dilemma. I was clueless. Questioning my career choice. Questioning my worth, value, dreams. Literally everything. I was at home, with nothing. Even though I had belief that I am good & do deserve, but it was just not happening.
Remaining motivated is next to impossible.

I can't comment on what you wanna be, but yes use this phase to explore.. explore different fields, engaging with different people/communities (twitter, discord).. find wise people. Talking specific about hiring, please head over to LinkedIn - see which companies are hiring & text people in & out - not for referrals but to recruiters - be RUTHLESS, even if you mail 100 people, all we want is 1 job.. and don't think what they will think, you want job right? Nobody can't understand the phase. Text small startups on Twitter (if small startups, building products from scratch, learning excites you)
And be gentle with yourself, at the end you will be fine. 🫂 All the best!!!

I'd suggest that you try to persist for some more time. Let me share the real story of my two friends who got laid off. The first one got 2 job offers in just 1 month but the second one has to wait for 9-10 months. I know them from college and both are at relatively similar skill levels. So please have some patience, trust me, you will get through it.
And the fact that you mentioned about it's not your calling - I think if your family is filthy rich and can support you throughout your personal struggle for personal ambitions then go for it else first get the job, save some money and then in your time - ponder about your other hobbies or interests. Umm, I would say this started happening with me from 2 months back, my job used to excite me earlier but suddenly I lost interest not only in my job but everything that I used to love earlier.
Actually I'm a very lively person who wants to interact with people but I'm not able to put forward myself as my true self in front of others irl. It's actually a shallow feeling in which I'm behaving opposite to what my mind wants.
It's actually a painful thing that is happening to me I would not have imagined that these thoughts would run over my mind earlier but they have now.
In your case I feel it might be similar that either you are low in confidence due to layoff and starting questioning your credibility or you have never had interest in this field.
Don't lose faith in your abilities, hardworking and determined people frequently start questioning their abilities even in small setbacks. You know I used to set goals for myself but now I don't like pursuing it, don't know how our complex minds are designed to work.
What I have seen especially for myself is that the more i vent out I feel relaxed, yeah it's always told that keep your lows to yourself but I feel it's better to vent them out, even just after writing here on grapevine gives me a sigh of relief. If you feel you're good at networking and building from scratch, you should try starting up. A coder who can sell is a deadly combo in the market, rarely found.
