Rant about IIM
Folks with considerable experience in startup world, do mba passouts from IIMs and other top tier business schools are actually worth the salaries they are paid?
Law of average...
Top notch iim post grads perform better than tier 2 to n avg combined
Outliers exist tbh imo
They're worth their salaries only because they pay high fees.
Else, i don't see how a IIM grad adds more value.

Brand name and connections. When the CEO/MD is from a top college, he will not let a T1 grad to join at a lower level. Even if a candidate with much better skill set is available, the CEO/MD will give the T1 grad a flip up. This helps in building brand value for that college, Which in turn will build his brand value. The whole setup works like a cartel. You have inside members and outside members. Talent/ knowledge is not the issue here.
From one of the older IIMs. Most of the batch is crazy smart, could make it to PhD in any advanced sciences at best universities across the globe. But they go after money. So they mould themselves for consulting, Product, IB or whatever pays the most bucks. Deserve it - Yes. Worth it - No.
