Why do people keep ranting about income tax
Bro, you are earning. Shouldn't you just be grateful that you are not born in war torn Afghanistan or disease ridden Africa. I mean life could be so much worse. In fact, the only difference between you and the office boy is the household you were born in. If that office boy was born in your home, he probably would be as successful as you. You already won the lottery. Why not just do your part and pay the income tax so that the tax money can be used to provide a better life to those who are unprivileged. I am not excusing the corruption in the system but just find the cribbing unbearable Just be greatful

No bro, it’s no so simple. People work hard to make a living. People crib about taxes because some of us are paying ‘first world rates with third world facilities’. Only single digit % of population is bearing the load of rest-of-population. Even corporate tax rates are < Salary tax rates.

I pay a hefty amount every month as tax. My dad pays 2.5x the hefty amount as tax every month.
We both drive on roads that are absolute shit. None of us avail anything given by the government because it is absolute shit.
We like driving on Expressways, but we pay exorbitant tolls for it. Government is giving me close to nothing in return compared to how much I am paying them.
Either everyone pays tax, or nobody does.
Are you serious ? Don't make tax sound like charity. If the govt is making me work for it 3 months a year, while I still have to pay for premium private services because most public facilities are below par, why should I not crib? Have you thought about how the tax rebate scheme is meaningless as you earn more? The people who crib are actually folks who value every penny of what they give in tax. Because we have our own lives to lead in a world that's not utilitarian. The people who make way more and don't crib, are the ones skipping this very tax, and the revenue collection department doesn't do squat.

I hope you are not claiming any HRA or special allowance deduction from your salary. We want you to pay even more tax for betterment of our country.

Two issues I have with current taxing system.
1 - Only 3-5% people are paying taxes, hence higher tax rates.
2 - When my tax money is not being utilised properly.
One day this 3-5% figure will jump to 30-50%. To make it happen we need to lay a strong infrastructure which is funded by our taxes.
not Infrastructure but better policies.
As a government (bjp or congress or anyone else) you can not justify that only a small chunk of people are responsible for paying taxes.
Rest are either finding loopholes or not paying at-all.
As a citizen I have zero issues in even paying higher taxes than current if that 3-5% no of tax paying citizen increases.
I have a friend who never cribbed about paying taxes or even questioned what she should receive in return of paying heavy taxes.
On one extremely sad afternoon during Covid, she lost both her parents because there weren't enough beds and cylinders in her city. Both her parents paid taxes too? Now tell me, should she rant about it or not? This was in the second wave, not even the first.
I know this is an extreme example. But, if you don't make noise and demand better, it'll be too late for it to matter. So, if people are ranting, atleast understand.

If my tax were well utilised the difference between me and the office boy would have probably been that he didn't work hard enough or is not smart enough cause both would have access to quality education for free.
I agree we should pay income tax . But why two sided .. i get salary .. income tax..
From remaining money if i buy anything GST ..
Different Cess , Tolls ..
Either take it in firm gst or take as income taxx

Looks like bhai hasnt paid serious taxes. I will be paying close to 40 lakhs tax this year. Ab socho. And what do I get in return? Nothing. 0. Nada. Oh but it goes to poor people. Well it doesn't go in a productive way. Thats the issue. They take subsidy money. Drink, gamble. Very few actually turn around.
Forget that, what do I get in return? Priority access to a simple domicile certificate? Nope.
You know what I will get? After 5 years when I am living in Singapore I will get a tax notice. They will force me to visit the office. Pay lakhs in bribe or show some random expense proof.
This is why people rant. You haven't got a notice yet I guess from the department, once you get you will come to face with reality.

No one is cribbing about paying taxes. We're cribbing about how
1. Big orgs, HNIs etc like BCCI evade taxes by exploiting loopholes.
2. Taxpayers' HARD EARNED money is used for personal means by you-know-who-all.
3. Majority of tax is reaped from us poor working class and not from those sitting at the top, controlling the money of the nation.
you WILL pay 30+% of salary after slaving your teenage years and 20s in a rat race.
you WILL pay for private education, healthcare etc because the public options are shit or have reservations
you WILL fund a politician's Swiss bank accounts and shenanigans.
you WILL pay
you WILL be happy and grateful.
No wonder, Indians are the most gullible race.
Of course one should be grateful they're born into good living conditions. But that doesn't mean we should happily accept having to pay hefty taxes in a system which is very inefficient.
If the tax money provided a better life to the unprivileged, I would not complain.
The above said... most people lie when they say "I save on taxes because of inefficiency". The truth is that most people are morally corrupt. And that's it.

Exactly, I would gladly pay 1 Crore in taxes, because that would mean I am earning in Crores. I keep wishing that my taxes keep getting higher, that makes me feel that I am progressing in my career and life.
