Is remote job better than WFO

Now why everyone is talking about benefits of working from office? I saw post from Sunil Shetty on linkedin. My take is, when pandemic hit companies asked employees to WFH to keep wheel rolling. Now we know WFH can give greater control over personal and professional life(at least for me) we don’t want to go back to office. In my opinion corporate want us to work from office cause, - they can control our time, 9hrs in ofc, you are getting paid for time not skills. - they want to show who is the boss here. - Learning is key reason for WFO, bullshit, we have a lot of learning portals and traffic time can be used to learn but it is never a intention. What you guys think?

Hi I got a remote job and planning to shift to tier 4 city. Major reason is to be with family and have slow pace life. The small town has good enough infrastructure including good internet and road connectivity. Do you think it would be a good idea in short term or long term? I am planning to continue remote job only until the day comes where i wont be able to find remote job.

I have been on a permanent wfh role since covid. Yes, been 2+ years since I stepped into an office. I stay alone and have little expenses but also 0 social life. Friends are all spread out. I am being offered a role by a company that works remotely. Last time I worked too long at home, I developed severe anxiety issues cause I just stayed put inside home for wayy too long. I know this is not what majority of people like to listen, but for people coming from other cities with no friends and poor social skills, working remote or hybrid starts taking a toll on your mental health. The isolation it brings is so overwhelming. You feel trapped and frustrated, when there's no one to talk to. Sometimes, I feel the quality of life of our kind of lower than street vendors at least they have people they can talk to. I just hate the way we are wired to be social animals yet find it overly difficult to connect with people.

I am an engineer and have been working remotely since the pandemic started. Initially, it was great as I could save time by not commuting to office but now I feel like I am missing out on something. I don't know what it is but I just feel like I need to be in an office environment to thrive. Maybe it's the social aspect or the structure of having set hours, but whatever it is, I can't seem to find the same level of motivation when working from home. Anyone else feeling this way? Any tips on how to make remote work more productive and enjoyable?

I work as a data scientist in a remote setting. I meet my team once a quarter. Here in Bangalore all my friends and my wife have work from office so I end up getting too lonely working from home. Also, this has shrinked my network compared to before. How are others in the city handling this? What forums, IRL places do you visit to counter this. Imho, This surely isn't great for long term career prospects.
