Remote work blamed for falling innovation at Nike. Can this be true or are they stretching it?
I'm of the firm belief that any physical product needs physically present people working on it, be it any form of collaboration. What innovative R&D are we expecting out of Zoom calls?

Weren’t all these executives singing songs in the praise of remote work till few months ago?
Another anecdote is - Atlassian, let people decide what works for them.
Just collaborate with another black rapper to make the money printer go burrr.

Mostly agree. For products like Nike, visual aspects matter I guess.
Now 70Hr breed will tap this logic to drag IT bros through traffic jams just to breathe over their shoulders the entire shift
Lol, what innovation that was pioneered by Nike before the pandemic? Only reason the managers are blaming remote work is they fear loss of control over their employees.
In my office, I'm actually less productive compared to my home as people initiate chit-chat all the time and I get distracted.
Innovation can only be felt !!! It cant be described on a zoom call (except software and chips)
I don't agree with this capitalist mindset have this kind of behavior but what about employees companies are not ready to pay good for the expenses an employee will have to add as burden if they relocate, hikes are marginal or hardly even as per the inflation rates, companies keep on adding their profits and cry for recession. What about employees they will work till end and find their hands empty at the end. Companies don't have any responsibility for this. If companies just take one step to collaborate better with their employees, show some trust and appreciate their work with some small but consistent rewards, definitely most of the employees will give their best.

I feel it’s always better while brainstorming. Ideas don’t just come in meetings.
You can have ideas at random time and it’s easy to just walk to your teammates/team and discuss about it.
I like to go to office when we need to discuss some stuff ( features/PRD/war room etc) and once it’s all cleared out work for days at home
I think it depends on organisation amd culture, if the goals and individual responsibilities are clear, it should not be a problem. If everyone is inspired enough to work, innovate and contribute in the best possible way for their own role, it should not be a problem.
After experience with both the modes in different companies, i feel the wfh benefits outweighs wfo.
I agree..but entire team should be at one place instead of going to office and talking to colleagues in zoom/teams
