One of the pros is that u dont hv to pay capital gains tax provided the said agri land falls in rural area as defined in income tax act.

I agree, even if you do farming related activities, you don’t need to pay IT on your earning.. Any other pointers?

I am loving this phase of my life. Wlb is good.

Eating organic food, drinking clean water 💦 and breathing clean air 🫁.

More time for family and society.
Getting good sleep with deep sleep more than 2h consistently. No regional holiganism. Life ain't kinda hullabaloo which used to be case in metro.

Saving+investing 100% of my salary (thanks to my investments in last 7-8y)

I want to sustain this and live like this for rest of my life.

I am in late 20s and sitting on total 93L savings.

It will cross 8d soon but am confused on how to go through sustainability. 

Please help me navigate.

1. I don't want to do job. 
Startup or Meaningful work is my calling. In Covid i worked for multiple startups and helped them in many ways. MVP to PMF, am good at marketing, sales, HR and tech. Planning to join a remote startup or start my own. But it should be meaningful startup not just a bigger fool game.

2. I Can do agriculture side by side as I have around 15acres of land. It can give output = Median package of tier 1 mba. Have ideas like growing stevia, alovera and other useful stuff instead of wheat n rice like my old generation. Then it will be huge but again have to convince father. Startups like dehaat are helping in this as well.

3. Get a good franchise in nearby city like sleepwell, Pizza Hut, kfc or tamo and get regular returns.

4. Put all money in FD and get 50k/m return and live a happy life. (50k is more than enough for family of 5 where I live currently)

5. I love reading, blogging, debating, quizzing on economics, geopolitics, spirituality, semiconductor, politics and tech. Can build an online business around this on YouTube and internet.


Please guide me how to reach to correct idea and navigate properly with minimal risk.

Guys I have land worth 2.16acres where approx 45 30*40 sites can be constructed and currently per plot of 30*40 selling somewhere to 15-18lakhs

Is it good idea to sell all in 1/2years? Get retired while keeping 50% FD and 50% in Nifty 50?

And do freelance or remote small work which I really care about???

I want to explore real estate; Given that I don't want to do any lump sum investment, Emi is the only option left. What are the pros and cons of buying a land vs a house/apartment ?? (On loan)

Me and my wife are 30 years old software engineer with no kids. Draw 7 lac a month please some yearly bonus. We invest 2 lac a month combined into equity market through mutual funds. 

Expenses: 1.5 lac a month including everything, lives in Bangalore in good society, owns a car, don't thing much before spending. 

Still after everything left with 3 lakhs every month in bank account. Not sure how to use that. We both don't have any fancy "shauk" where we can spend and hence don't have an urge to earn more. 

Any suggestions???

Hey - we are also similar to you. Would strongly suggest finding something you’re passionate about. 
  
 For us (primarily me) - got a dog, took a 6 month sabbatical, travelled to 30+ countries in this time, left job to pursue startup idea, spend time with parents, learn language, improve fitness, learnt some coding, etc 
  
 It’s a pretty good position to be in - just explore I’d say

Flats or plots? Please share your inputs!

Flats: You save money for a few years and give most away as downpayment. Then for the next decade or more a major chunk of your salary goes towards EMI. By the time you are done with the EMI (10-20 years) the flat is now old, hasn’t appreciated much and selling becomes an issue. Add to it building politics, lack of maintenance in many projects etc.

Plot: You buy a villa plot or some 200-400 square yard plot in a developer’s plotting project. After 10-12 years that project might not have taken off as no one really is building a villa there (seen such cases around Hyderabad a lot) and you might not be able to sell it too!

Is my understanding wrong? With no ancestral property to rely on I see myself living in rent and although it is relaxing for now, I can do with some guidance on buying a house / land by people who have done it and your views on it?

Real estate in blr seems super saturated. Are there good places where you can still buy plot in decent prices? Or start any new business (not a scaled startup) ?
