@ElomDusk that is possibly the worst advice one could give. I know smokers that shifted to vaping “to quit” but now admit that vaping is much more addictive.

@Whatsinthename try nicotine gum/patches depending on how much you smoke, and gradually reduce whatever option you pick. Don’t go cold Turkey since that will lead to mood swings and irritation.

@StrawhatSasuke at least gets you off the 500+ toxins that cigarettes have man. I prefer to be addicted to vapor 😅 than smoke from dust

As someone who’s tried it all. I would say going cold turkey is the only way to actually quit.

Start vaping first get off smoking. Then get off vaping.

Vaping is harder to get off of.

Irony is when you start smoking for fun and try to be the cool kiddo in the block and now the same thing you feel guilt and want to quit. I would say not to try this even at first place

I would suggest try cigi buds filter from shark tank, I've heard they reduce the effects in terms of tar and chemicals, and have a gradual phase off filters for 3 months by which you will eventually quit it! Can't guarantee it because haven't tried it, but have seen the benefits of using filters off late. Also move to thinner cigarettes maybe with lesser nicotine and tar, that would also let you phase you nicotine dependence more easily

Do not shift to vaping! It is messed up. Honestly depends on how much and how long have you been doing it for. But cold turkey is a good answer, usually I feel a sudden reduction in energy and minor headaches when I do it - but its important to remind yourself why health and a good life is important

Best way is the legacy way which was tried & tested over half a century:

Just quit smoking. Not reduction, chewing gums, vape and shit. Just quit. It worked for me.

@ElomDusk definitely not the “worst advice”. Worst advice would be suggest something worse than smoking. The addictive part people are referring to is the nicotine! Most harmful part of smoking is inhaling the burnt tobacco (and other garbage in the cigg) which affects your lungs.

My advice would be to switch to vape and reduce frequency. Vape only when the craving hits hard. And slowly get off it. A friend of mine tried this and is now clean since last 5 years.

Do you feel the urge to join folks during smoking break?

I have observed many freshers joining seniors during smoking break for “networking”. is this a common thing and does it help in getting promos?

I don’t smoke but will consider it if there’s a benefit for my career.
