I have a friend who is a CA. She is currently working in Tech but wants to move to more Finance Oriented Roles. However, the problem now is that she has 2 years of Work Experience in Tech in Big 4 and now her profile is not as relevant for CA related roles in other Big4 or for that matter in finance as well. What should be done should she resign now and how’s the job market for CA’s at the moment? Guidance and help please.

I am not a CA, so either I have to complete CPA to become a manager else I have to be in the same designation.
I am looking for an option to switch job.

One of my college friends (2021 batch) had joined Accenture from college placements.She got trained in salesforce.

But since last 2 years she has been in and out of many projects due to some or the other reason and spent time mostly on bench because of which she does not have much project experience.

Now she is fed up of this and wants to switch and change the tech stack also.

So I told her to start studying java and spring boot so that she can get into backend roles.She is also studying data structures side by side.

In the resume she wanted to show that she has java experience for the past 2 years. So how should she write it. What projects she should write about?

Due to the toxic environment at my current employer(FAANG), I had to resign. I am taking a job which is a step down in pay and role (a refresh basically) and am moving outside tech( no hiring in tech rn :/)

In short to long term, how can I save this career mishap? Although the step down is worth it mentally, given the toxicity I am facing in my team at FAANG, I do want to recover professionally. I have applied a lot but I am 100% sure I won’t get a better job in this market.

1st: 1.5 lakhs annual compensation, cloud monitoring role. Work involves monitoring of cloud servers, preparing usage reports about them and giving additional costs if usage goes above a certain point.

Future scope involves doing certifications in cloud and moving to projects.

2nd: Sports Analyst in a sports analytics company. 3LPA annual compensation.
Job involves watching sports games and finding and analysing the moves, parts of games with help of in house softwares.

Hi everyone, would appreciate some suggestion/guidance. 

I, 29F, am a chartered accountant. In the first 3.5 years of my career I worked in a small CA firm where I could get exposure of small clients in all areas like tax, audit and other compliances. 

Later, I switched to a company in transfer pricing field and have been working here for 2.5 years. 

After having worked here, I realize I wish to mak my career in corporate tax and not in transfer pricing. But this would bring about a cut in designation and pay, not sure to what extent. 

Any suggestions on how I can make this transition easier without significant cut of pay?

As I came across people from various backgrounds, I see a very motive driven purpose for the need of Financial Education in India. What do you guys think ? People aren't aware about basic terms like assets/liabilities, Why do we file taxes, Vicious circle of Debts, compounding and a lot more. And which is why the young population even after earning in lakhs end up spending it all😭

I am looking to help my wife switch her domains. she is currently a FTE at infosys with ~6 years experience in the IT Services domain. She spent 5 years at IBM before joining Infy in same project.

She has extensive onsite experience where she worked with IBM Australia with Westpac back.

As expected, she has stagnated massively and will become completely disconnected with tech if she continues in these companies. One rather seamless switch that we feel she can pursue is moving to Snowflake platform and pursuing a career in either dev or as an analyst.

She has been following tuts from multiple resources and aiming a certification as well, but lack of enough hands-on experience is making her nervous and preventing her from focussing on studies.

Given the current market situation, job opportunities are not easy either.

How can she explore internal switch within Infy to pursue Snowflake? Otherwise, how can she overall pursue this switch? We are f9 with her taking up contract positions as well as long as she gets to work on Snowflake.

I am a finance professional ICWA (CMA). I was academically brilliant, completed CMA along with graduation. Made the mistake of not doing CA, as someone advised CMA is equivalent. Took up jobs since 1996 and have worked with 4 different companies. Performed on job, rose in designation and salary. Left a good organisation in which I worked for 17 years to take up a CFO position with a pvt ltd company. 

Unfortunately that company was not doing well. I was laid off 1.5 years back. Not able to find another job 

1. Because I am a CMA, I don't get Shortlisted to most CFO openings ( they need a CA)

2. Since my last experience was with a pvt ltd Co, no good listed entity wants to hire me

It's been a frustrating search for last 1.5 years. Pls advise
