Ever Happened you take a day off from work  only to complete all your tasks and backlogs?

This is the third time this happened to me taking this friday off to complete my work. Everyday doing so many meetings didn't get any time to complete the work. I only got only an hour or two daily to complete my work. and then wondering what to tell in the standup tomorrow. 

Funny thing is I'm a junior developer with only 1 year exp :)

for more context: I don't work on weekends and after 7pm.

Hi, I am working in a early stage startup and our CEO has established the culture of transparency where he shares every update regarding company funding, customer sales, revenue and answers all questions within company but one thing that has been bugging me is his micromanaging. 


He has integrated a bot in slack which ask for what did you do yesterday ? and what are you going to do today ? , Everyday


He also managed a spreadsheet of our tasks and takes the exact estimate in days makes a calendar view there and keeps asking up to update on our tasks progress in multiple meetings or on chat. 


I didn't had such experience in prior companies but he mentioned, such things were being followed in NyKa, DineOut, etc as well 

Does the well known companies like Phonepe, Uber, Zomato, google, amazon, Microsoft, De shaw, sprinklr follow this as well ? 

I just wanna check, is he doing too much or it this a standard in Indian companies ?

Sounds like a daily standup update just in written format.

I got laid off within 5 months of joining the company as a Fresher it was my first job during PG I was under training for 1-1.5 months and got shifted to the actual work department due to requirements in that department.
I was under probation for 3 months but the period extended for 1 month due to PG exams. I eventually worked with determination as it was my first job I even worked on weekends and sacrificed my health sleep for that job yes I accept i made some mistakes and was not able to adhere to the tight deadlines sometimes. 
My manager used to call me and used to tell me that he is not seeing any improvement in my performance also said or else he had to escalate this matter to the senior managers. 
I was giving my best working late nights even skipping my meals to finish the work on time also the deadlines got tighter and tighter. When the probation period got over i received a call from hr telling we have to part ways the time taken for completing a task is longer the performance was not up to the mark. she also told if you don't resign you'll be blacklisted and would face consequences.
After listening to this I was heartbroken despite working with honesty and determination I was not confirmed. My peers who joined the organization with me got confirmed for that position. 
I am looking for another job and facing questions like why you left the previous job as a fresher I have no idea what to say. I am not sure about the next job i don't want to face this situation again it destroys mental peace, confidence and develops self doubt what should I do I am vulnerable......

My Manager told me that I am not performing well and suddenly put me in PIP plan . He has already told me in September that my performance was low, and I have worked hard after that to show him. Even in 1:1s after September he has told me that I am improving. But I did not expect him to give me the pivot document suddenly. He has given a project which I was already working on and now I need to deliver it by Nov end. The L4 (front end/software engineer) tasks are not easy to achieve, but I am scared about the fact that recession is coming and this might be an Amazon way of kicking people out and even if I delivered everything he asked for, he can still decide to kick me out. So , can anyone help me with referrals and tell me what should I do at this situation?  What is the best way to survive PIP as well as prepare for interview? I am in L4 and have worked for amazon for 14 months till now.

Previously I worked in Persistent Systems for 2 years. Recently my hr called me to share the screen and resign. They have given me 7 days time to submit laptop and all the assets, leave the company. I just want to understand can't we do anything if they asked to do force resign. Because I have been in this company for 2 years, past 6 months they started doing this for atleast 40 employees per month only from my branch Hyderabad . Now it has become per week because they don't have projects and lot of projects are going to end in few months and already few projects moved out because when I spoked with senior in the company they are saying projects signed for 5 year's contract has now not interested to move. I asked  why because of internal company politics, favouritism, fake and backdoor employees, over commitment due to these projects are not delivered in given deadline. How employees Will look for another oppurtunity in 7 days, also in my case when said to my recruiter that I am laid off they didn't schedule interview call then I changed my plan started saying them that I am having offer of A from x company going to join in next 15 days, then they shared scheduling interview. 
Won't there be any legal action we can take on employer as an employee in this cases.

I'm tired of this Indian management style of listing all things that are WRONG, the very first thing in the morning

"None of you do this"
"This is not happening"
"Why are you <take names> not doing <something outside JD>?"

Is nothing working? Is the company going down?
Are employees doing nothing right?!

how do you guys deal with managers setting up unrealistic deadlines? My manager without even consulting the team about efforts required gave the estimated completion date of the project which is impossible to deliver by that time. I tried to reason with him several times about extending the timeline but he doesn't listen at all. what should i do in this case?

I'm planning to say it outright to Manager, that if standups are going to run for 1.5 hrs then I will be commuting in this time. I dont get time for myself, if I just sit and listen nonsense that i can read.

What to do with daily 2hr standup? It eats my gym time.

I work at a small scale startup where I interact daily with the CTO whom I directly report.

Recently, he has been giving tighter deadlines for critical projects at work and is not willing to discuss anything related to the scope or timeline of the projects. He just expects me to finish everything in x number of days without asking for even the slightest estimate of the duration.

This has led to me missing due dates for projects which he later blames on me quoting poor performance during reviews. 

Has anyone encountered such problems before? How did you handle it?

Had been rescheduling an important demo for a while, because my backend team specifically kept taking longer and longer. 

In the end, 10 minutes before the demo my team told me they’re not going to be able to load new data and if I could do the demo with old data (which was wrong and hence the need for new data)

I’ve already asked my backend lead to escalate non performers, but he doesn’t want to follow the company procedures.

Hey guys,

I'm on notice period and I left my job because of the bad conditions and unhelpful team and messed up mental health. I have 2 months notice which started 3rd july

I wanted to know can the company do anything if my performance in notice period is bad. Basically if I get the work, I'll try to deliver but 8 won't be messing up my mental health if I'm not able to deliver.

I plan to simply say that, sorry i tried but I'm not able to figure it out. If someone helps me its fine and if not then I'll continue to say it.

Can the company do anything if I keep a good behaviour and not deliver tasks.
