Stopped buying most of the things. Became more frugal. 
  
 Earlier I used to spend a lot, fancy clothes, expensive sneakers, new bikes every 1-2 years. Now with this much money (2cr+), don't feel like buying nice stuff. Activa, chappal, bunch of tshirts, shorts and couple of jeans.

My attitude toward life didn't change, but I guess now I enjoy the small comforts more.  
  
 I save/invest a certain amount of my salary and use the rest to party, dinner, go out, and whatnot.  
  
 Life in college was the same, but everything was less affordable. But the bare bones haven't changed, and nor do I want them to change. 
  
 Now that I earn money, I went to Goa to gamble a bit. When I wasn't earning money, I stayed at Delhi station in winter for 12 hours with my friend, because we had missed our train in the morning, and the next one was in the evening. Both experiences are equivalent to me. Doing something new, fun, the excitement of winning, the pain of losing. Nothing has changed.

Bought a lot of things that made me feel happy but first ever trip with family stands out to me. Even though father can afford he would've never spend 50 60k for a trip but save for something else.

Completely changed. Come from a poor background getting a job was the most important thing in life, able to take up all the responsibilities from dad, finished all debts, invested some, redeemed all, bought land, built a home, parents had never even imagined all these, i still have a long way to go, lot of things are still pending, hopefully things settle down in future

I grew up in a family which used to be just above poverty line. My mom had worked a lot to provide making 7K a month. I now have a job that pays 15lpa. Other than good food on table I'm not sure what i should do with the money. I save everything left after removing house expenses Which is 75% of my income. I know saving is good but i don't want endup saving a huge pile and dying without using any of it.i want to exprfi6good things. Mine was 8800 rupees cash from working as an assistant at the Chemistry Lab at my Uni for 4 months. 

Gave the entire thing to Mom. Still remember her proud and happy reaction like it was yesterday :)

I got my first salary after getting my cash CTC increased from 22 to 29LPA
I thought I’d be happy but I just checked my bank account and closed it. 
Felt nothing. No differential feeling / experience for even a second

Earlier when my salary moved from 30k to 50k month I used to get the happiness hit for a week but now it’s “meh” even though the difference is much higher.

Have you reached your short term goal?

So I am working at a startup for around a year now. Everyday I see, it feels, what am I really doing? Where is the life headed? 
    Doing bare minimum or doing your tasks and fucking off isn't enough. It's expected that we outgrow constantly, as if it's this work that we can always think about and nothing else. At the end, am wondering if it's still worth it?
    1 day it feels that let's just quit it! Next day I feel, okay, I do want the money. 

I ain't looking for suggestions here, just wanted to see if anyone else felt this way

What are you earning for ? Is it concrete or something vague that one day you will need this amount or something? Is it more than you or your family needs?

Or are you just a sheep like me ?

Write about a time you made someone feel very nice. Hopefully it can be a collection of ideas that others can take forward. If somehow a few people do something nice as a result, that would be powerful.

To start with an example: Bought a laptop for my grandfather because he wanted to continue working post 60. Helped him learn Excel, Gmail, Chrome browsing over many days. He really picked it up, and works as a consultant for new companies in the industry he worked all his life.

Hey folks, I'm a recent graduate, got a job at a startup and the base will be <15, >10. Shifted to Bangalore (more like returning after 6 years, lived for 4 years before that). 

Since I'll be starting my full time journey soon, I want to know how you guys split your take home salary into needs, wants, luxury, savings, investing etc. 

Currently, I'm in a rented flat in HSR (my split is 7k) and will rent out/buy some home appliances. Food would be around 10k a month (no maid, all outside).

I just want to know your experiences on spending and handling money. Not that I'm bad at it, but this is the start of my journey and I would like to know how other people manage their money, so I'd know if I have to tweak some things.
