Cons of living in a PG in Bangalore?
If you are living in PG in Bangalore please share your expense and experience

Lived a long time back, relatively quite expansive for their services. Single room will cost you upwards of 10k, with attached bathroom over 15k. Forget privacy if you’re in a shared accommodation. Food is mediocre although ymmv. Internet is usually slow.
Prefer shared private flat over a PG; much better privacy/control over options.

Staying in a PG (kind of like a service apartment) HSR Layout, Sector 2
Pros:
- single accommodation room
- fully furnished (bed, tables, chair, etc)
- attached bathroom
- attached Balcony
- no additional charges
- really amazing building care taker
- Hot water availability
Rent: 8000 when started back in 2021, with a yearly increase of 10%
Cons:
- water shortage (not frequently, but still has happened a few times)
- power cut (back up is there, but sometimes it may not work)
- limitations on using electrical appliances
- Food costs 2000 extra, it's fine but repetitive
- Can get hotter during summer and no option for an AC
- Will get spoilt by HSR Layout (a lot of greenery, less traffic, almost everything available nearby)

Currently staying in one. Whitefield. 8k for 2 sharing.
Pros:
- savings on food as somedays its decent some days its dogshit.
- 300mbps unlimited internet
- got lucky and got a nice room with a good fresh washroom attached, 24x7 hot water
- dont have to worry about paying bills for electricity, wifi etc.
- daily cleaning is done by househelps
- very close to office ( depends p2p )
Cons:
- roomate was randomly assigned so he turned out to be an omega asshole, no privacy, talks (read screams) in his native language at all times on phone, doesn't understand English or hindi on his native tongue. Overall 2/10
- sometimes neighbours can be noisy
Overall would say if you're an intern or a fresher not making a shit ton of money, a year or 2 in pg would help you save a bit and will also help you plan your finances better in the future.

Lack of privacy and potentially some really annoying people around.
And not much cheaper than rent in some areas

Bangalore PGs used to have lots of bed bugs in my times, not sure if it still remains. Those silk road PGs. Beware!!

Small in size
Lack of balcony
No private kitchen
