Corporate life of a engineer

I hate working 9 to 5. I simply hate it. I loathe it. I worked so hard all my effing life to get here and I hate it. I learnt DP and what not. It’s been 1.5 years since I started working full time as a software engineer and it just keeps getting worse. I make upwards of 15 lpa. It’s not that I have a bad work environment, it’s great. It’s just that I feel absolutely rotten working a 9 to 5 as a software engineer. Ideally, I would like to own a small business of my own. Despite watching hours of content on how to do that, I haven’t been able to come up with anything that seems like it’s gonna work, you know… Thinking of doing an MBA but that’s BS too, right? It feels like very soon I’m just gonna quit and be broke. 🤷🏼‍♀️ It feels like my life is over at 23. Kill me now. My question to you is first, am I alone?, second, can I help you in your business in any possible way?, third, should I do an MBA?

Last 3 years of startups have been all about SaaS. I just don't get it. So far, it was about solving real problems at scale. First with consumer websites (google etc), then software, then shopping & delivery (amazon swiggy zomato fk etc etc) And now, it's all SaaS: - Imma build a startup to help white businessmen in America do better billing - Imma build a 360 degree feedback tool specifically for Norwegian miners - Imma build a SaaS software to help HR people note down who isn't dressed properly - Imma build a software to help hillbillies in the US better manage their trucking company Like how are smart people in India taking up entrepreneurship to build these ideas that are dull and feel like the end of life? How does anybody become excited by this? is it just money? what am I missing?

In the long term, can I make a good career by just being a developer? My POV: In market, business matters more than technology. Selling the product is more important than creating it. I understand that eventually I will be valued for my industry experience and the ability of managing people and business. Is there any other way where I can stay in IT industry and keep on working in innovation and creation?

No matter if you work 24 hrs dedicatedly you are expected to serve more and also contribute towards company by upskilling yourself.

Hey all I’m a founder of a privately run services / maintenance company. Started from scratch, running for > 10 years now. Have done all roles from being employee 1 to leading a team ~ 10-15 employees spread over multiple cities / states . Company has been reasonably successful over time and seen tens of thousands of happy customers from all over the country. Off late it’s feeling like everything runs on autopilot and things don’t need my involvement anymore and I want to go out and do new things that will keep me motivated and happy. I’m interested and passionate in the fields of sales and marketing of electronics / service and maintenance / sustainable energy like solar and electric vehicles and charging / operations & management . Engineer and MBA by profession. Am happy to talk to anyone who is doing meaningful work in any of the above streams and looking for people with like minded interests and also happy to listen to suggestions if any.
