It's the same feeling every time you switch. But I would recommend leaving on good terms. Remember it's a small world. Put your nice 5-6 hours per day. Help people get ramped up.  
  
 Also enjoy your notice period a little. Go for a walk at 5 pm. Take a proper lunch break.

So I interviewed with a company two months ago, after all the formalities were done, I received a response from the HR that I have cleared all the rounds. But the requirements for the position they were hiring me for suddenly changed and they asked me to wait for a while until a new position positions opens up matching my tech stack. At that time I was about to be released from a project in my current company so getting the notice period reduced to 2 months was not that much of a hassle. 
Today, the HR called me again telling me that a new position has been opened up and if I am available to join I can join. My official period is of 90 days and now I have been allocated to a new project in my current company.
I have been wanting to switch since so long because of variety of reasons. But the problem now is the notice period in my current company. The HR is very strict about joining within the 60 days but I am not getting any vibe that my current manager is going to reduce my notice period.

Please suggest if there are any ways out of it.

I have given interview in UST Global and also selected but i have mentioned that my LWD day is June 25 but i have not even resigned. Can you pls suggest how i can handle this situation and what i should say to HR.

I am currently serving my notice period (90 days). Had decided earlier to quit and then look for a role so that I can job hunt in relative peace without worrying about job performance (high impact and demanding role). Was interviewing with a bunch of startup’s and almost every hiring manager and HR asked about why are you quitting without an offer? Same people when I was interviewing while working were concerned about the 90 day notice. 

Is this considered as a concerning behaviour? Or just a negotiation tactic. 

Also, what is a correct response to this question in your opinion? The truth seems incredulous to these folks.

I'm on notice period and I left my job because of the bad conditions and unhelpful team and messed up mental health. I have 2 months notice which started 3rd july

I wanted to know can the company do anything if my performance in notice period is bad. Basically if I get the work, I'll try to deliver but 8 won't be messing up my mental health if I'm not able to deliver.

I plan to simply say that, sorry i tried but I'm not able to figure it out. If someone helps me its fine and if not then I'll continue to say it.

Can the company do anything if I keep a good behaviour and not deliver tasks.

I have resigned without an offer in hand and I just mentioned that it would be difficult for me to commit fully during the notice period as I have prepare. Also I have asked for remote work during the time.


Now I am worried that they would fire without paying anything.. how legal or valid are my negotiating terms.

3 months notice period

I joined a company in a business/product role last October, realised it is not at all what i was told in terms of culture and expected work( detailed reason not important to the advice I need). Basic training was going on and i resigned in 13 days. It was an amicable resignation with my hiring manager(great guy btw) and org boss. HR said we will not pay you a salary as to adjust against  waiving off of notice period and stuff. I felt at that time it is ok as I did not wanted to serve the notice period(what is the point anyways). I also felt it is not justified to take that salary and wanted to quickly move to next steps. No money hits my bank account from the company as of writing this post.

Cut to this year June, I see an information mentioning a salary being paid to me for that October month while going through my TIS and AIS forms on ITR portal.
I reached out to the company as to clarify this.
I wanted them to provide me with a salary slip and form 16 at least if after all they are saying a salary is paid. 
They are not providing that saying it is adjusted.
I have a few questions here.

1. If a salary(more than 80k)  is mentioned in my tax(even it was so called adjusted), I must be provided with a salary slip right?
2. Am I missing something and am I in the wrong here?
3. What should be my next steps, I don’t want that  salary but shouldn’t they provide the salary slip and form 16 if it mentions it on my tax documents?

I did not wanted them on my employment history hence wanted no such hassle and here we are.
Need some inputs from people who understand these things. HRs or any other folks in the know.

I am a 4 YoE backend engineer on a Python stack. I feel I have a decent profile coz I have got calls from Bosch, L&T, Deloitte, Quantiphi, LTIMindtree and etc., but my profile didn’t get shortlisted every time just because of the 60 day's notice period. I even asked my friends for referrals to companies like Accenture and Infosys. Even after that, my profile also didn't get shortlisted.

Any suggestions? I want to change my company too.

I am highly annoyed by double standards and hypocritic behavior of companies while hiring for Notice period.

Almost every company wants immediate joining or asap joining and they will definitely ask or encourage you to negotiate notice period, etc.

However they themselves would not have allowed a single employee to leave early or waive off notice period.

I sometimes feel to ask them, that i am sure the employee who's replacement or position i am being hired for would have also asked to waive off notice period, did you allow him/her? If no, then why do you expect another employer would do something different.

I mean, my current employer asked me to negotiate notice period when i was leaving my previous organization, now if tomorrow i resign, i know they won't waive off a single day.

If anyone else have good experiences, answers around the same. Please do share.

I am thinking of leaving my current job and focus on myself, getting to know myself better etc. Currently I have enough money saved for my expenses for next 6-8 months. 
   Everyone I have asked about this say don't leave your job if you don't have another lined up, in this tech winter. I understand their view point. It aligns with what my parents think as well.

Is there anyone who has had done this in the past? Do you recommend this route? Are the consequences far too severe? Does anyone have a different opinion from one stated above?
