You do know anyone who earns more than 25k/m is in top 10% of this country, right? That's the situation in here man, grapevine depicts less than 0.001% people. You can't base your life on this! And trust me, you ask the people if they are happy in their lives, most people do the jobs bcoz it pays well and not bcoz they want to do it!  
 So chill!

There would be many people who are just fake-flexing ( they just wanna watch the world burn)..

Don’t worry. The majority of the flex is the 1% of the 1%. Make enough to have a sustainable growth in career and don’t fixate on the higher compensations. Many of these people have or will become ‘unhireable’ and will have to take lower compensations.

Seeing the salary discussion happening among unicorn and top tier tech co. employees, i must confess I get anxiety everytime I check into this app.

Like wtf. Am in this co. happily slogging for last 5 yrs getting 18LPA  even though I have total experience of 12 yrs working in Privacy and compliance solutioning team.

Now i feel like I have been living under a rock. Am already thinking of hopping in April, that's when my promotion, hike and bonus will be settled 😉 Wherever i land next i am sure I will spend another 5 yrs minimum, coz I will be logging out from here.

I don't understand why this happens the one who joined recently don't have any experience who is junir associate who gets paid more and more and when the senior asks for an hike which is always being judged by the managers who never wanna give hike and show partiality and gender bias and politics like same caste people will be getting hike.
when the person who supposed to give hike is never responding to you giving you filthy reason forr a decent hike. What's the point of working there??

Where to invest the bonus

I feel that when you open up to people about your traumas and insecurities, people are only going to use it against you in an arguement.

While you might argue that not everyone does that, and I would be the first one to agree to that. But you somehow stop trusting everyone, even your shadow , when your favorite people become your most bitter life lessons. 

The one who feels emotions always ends up suffering more. In the hindsight, it feels as if being a bare minimum "good human" is a curse. 

However,

I have been using grapevine to vent out and connect with strangers and so far I have only met supportive and empathetic human beings (most of them). 

Despite being covered in the sheild of anonymity, most people have only been respectful and kind. 

This proves that we, as humans , are only meant to love each other. Hatred is futile. Empathy is inherent while hatred is "cultivated".

I hope grapevine founders dont stumble across this post else theyll start charging premium fees when they realize how highly people speak of this platform lol

I'm working as a software Engineer at a startup with almost 2 YOE. Looking at most of my friends going to usa for masters right after college i felt like I'm making a mistake by not doing the same after listening software engineers earning 100K us dollars there. I thought I'll give myself two years get some work experience and then think about it but honestly I'm still confused if i should switch(which is not proving to be so simple in the current job market) or should I go for masters (again confused here in choosing between usa or Germany or Australia). Will taking almost 40 Lakhs of loan money and doing it be worth it ? Seriously damn confused about what next step to take. When I spoke with the CTO here, he advised it's not worth and you can be earning almost similar money here soon. I'd say FOMO is also a big thing here. As i tell myself let's take the risk, 2 years of study will be done soon and then work for 3-4 years , make big money , repay the loan and get back to India. I'd be having the international exposure, experiencing some above average lifestyle than India , so confused man 

Any grapeviners who might have seen people around them taking this step please suggest me what to do, any advice is greatly appreciated 🙏

Really confused about masters vs switch

Sooo I feel like Bangalore is a city that lives on Hype, everyone is just trying to be cool and are too afraid of actually call out stuff for what they are. 

Few examples (my personal opinion) 

Eat Naru - it’s good ramen, but you can definitely find better or as good (bookings are sold out in minutes) 
Pizza 4Ps - Average pizza, great hospitality but not worth waiting for a booking a month in advance 
Ultrahuman ring - It’s not even that accurate for that price 
March Tee - good T-shirt, but you can find so much better at that price point

Totally Agree with this, everyone wants to get validation or some kind of approval from ultra rich or dumb influencers, I think it's totally influenced by Tech Cuties mostly from North India working in Startups (HSR, Koramangala). These dumbfucks who never stepped out of their world get excited for silly things, imagine people standing outside a biryani shop at 4am, people standing in a queue sandwich..uff this all insta validation stories matters for them, they seek happiness by impressing or making someone jealous of.
