Few suggestions that you might have got from others: 
 - try switching the job for somewhat better salary. 
 - get married, may sound foolish, but if your better half is also working , it may increase your budget. 
 - get drivers licence  
 - learn tech skills if possible.

Thank you so much, bro! But the thing is that nowadays finding a better half is so difficult. 😞 As for tech skills, I’ve already enrolled in cloud and DevOps certification, which I am paying for EMI, bro.

Despite my considerable efforts, I have unfortunately failed at building my startup. I have lost all my savings and incurred a substantial debt from friends and family, amounting to close to 50 lakhs. Additionally, there are credit card debts that have adversely affected my CIBIL score.

At age of 29, I have transitioned to a full-time job again that pays 30 lakhs per annum. Navigating through this challenging financial situation seems impossible. Any advice on how to manage this.

My base is around 14Lpa. 
My rent is around 25kpm. And monthly necessary expenditure of around 15kpm.
I am not that well-versed with taxes also. I'm learning about them. Currently I invest 3k in MF every month.

Congratulations - you're off to a great start! Thats a tidy income to start off with. 
  
 My advise, cut out all the noise and random friendly advise from all and sundry and keep it really really simple till you hit a 50L investment corpus. 
  
 0. Buy a Term Insurance (vanilla, no riders) for 2 Cr. Annual Premium. Till 65 years of age.  
 0. Buy a Health Insurance cover for 10L.  Annual Premium. 
 0. If your parents aren't insured, buy a family floater cover for them now.  15L. Annual Premium.  This may become impossible as they age. 
 1. Start a monthly SIP in a single Nifty50 Index Fund (UTI : HDFC / ICICI / Nippon / doesn't matter).  From your data I'd say put in ~40K per month. 
 2. Start a PPF account and maximise annual investment - 1.5L pa.  
 3.  Invest all bonuses / increase in salary in the same Index Fund.   
  
 Watch the magic of compounding begin.  You'll see the impact of laying this foundation only post 20 yrs.  
  
 If your salary (and as a result your SIP) doesn't change, you should hit 50L in ~7 years.  Faster if you get good salary hikes and appraisals. 
  
 When you hit 50L, diversify into other asset classes (SGB + Flexicap MF + Real Estate for own use).  Do not create clutter by adding MFs and complicate life.  Keep investments simple as you scale: 
  
 30% - Index Fund 
 30% - Flexicap 
 20% - Gold (demat) 
 20% - Debt (EPF/PPF) 
  
 Rebalance asset allocation annually. 
  
 Never invest or choose instruments for tax planning. Tax optimisation leads to suboptimal instrument choices with your money (Insurance / Debt / etc).

Hi, I am 25 years old and I live in Bangalore. I make around 1.35L pm and I’m struggling to understand how much to save or invest in a month. I understand the 50 / 30 / 20 rule but feel like using 50% of my income on needs is a lot. 

I also do not understand if I should have a different pot for savings (liquid) and investments or if I should be putting aside all my extra money on investments. Also how much is a decent amount to spend on rent + food + lifestyle etc. 

I like living open heartedly but also feel immensely guilty after splurging too much.

I've completed 1 year in my first job. I've tried saving and investing some money, help me decide what I can do better:

Income: 22LPA

PPF: 3 Lakh
EPF: 2 Lakh
MF: 5 Lakh
Saving Account: 4.5 Lakh

Income for new FY post increment: 29LPA

I did these savings based on some advice from my elder brother.

I'd like to spend more this year though, with some travel and going out more, maybe even purchase a scooty/bike and a PS5 😁 - would these expenses be justified?

Apart from improving my savings & investments and 
still being able to afford a few luxuries, I want to know if I should get any of these:

- Health Insurance - Only 5 Lakh cover from company for me and my parents (note - parents are getting old)

I did the all the calculation of my earnings, savings and expenses recently and got some insights that I thought of sharing and wanted  how others plan or track these thing on there end.

Started earning in Jan 2022 as an intern and later in July started my full time career.

Post Tax Income till Dec 2023 : 27Lakhs
Tracked Savings: 19Lakhs approx
Net Saving %: 70%

And I think this would not be possible if it was WFO.🙂

I need help from all the experienced folks out there.

I and my father have 2 loans:

1. Educational Loan EMI - ₹6500/month for 15 years (₹ 7 lakh loan)
2. Home Loan EMI - ₹22500/month for 9 years (₹ 17.5 lakhs loan)

I am 22 and started my full-time career this month and wanted to understand how to repay 2 loans along with my father quickly with less financial burden. (I am the only child)

My expenses -

1. Paying Home Loan EMI - ₹ 22500/month
2. Investments - ₹ 30000/month
3. Petrol - ₹ 5000/month
4. Miscellaneous - ₹ 5000/month
5. Left with - ₹ 20500/month (lumpsum)

Should I create an emergency fund for myself first with the remaining amount or what else should I do, totally blank in this case?

My father looks after the household expenses, education loan, and his own investments. Not sure, how much he is left with at the end of the month as I am not aware of his income. (He has a private job)

P.S. - 

1. I spend consciously and don't have a bad spending habits. I love to drive (bought a car myself in Dec 2022) and climb mountains, so I manage to do treks every 3 months.

2. I am rigid about my investment amount, so may not compromise on that part.  

Would be forever grateful, if I get some helpful suggestions.
