I am currently preparing for product management interviews. When I try to solve case studies I am not able to empathise with Gen Z. When someone asks to improve an app I am like, "dude it already has so many features what else do you want". When I read the pain points of Gen Z I don't even understand how can such simple things can be a pain points for someone. It is like people don't want to do anything on their own

As I have spent decent amount of my time in Software industry now, I see that Millennials (late 20's- early 30's) are moving towards management position (mostly 8-10+ years of experience). 

You may have had awful supervisors who micromanaged you, or a bad team leader who was extremely insecure. It's time for a change the system. To change the system, you must first be a part of it. 

I know it's easier said than done, but be more collaborative with your juniors. They are looking to you for counsel.  

Also, a reminder to Gen Z: Be patient; we millennials have gone through a lot. :D

I hate entitled genz.. Most frauds, brought up on soyboy YouTube channels . 

Boomers hated the millenials.. Millenials were too much talk and true most of it is. 

So why the fuck should millenials bend over backwards for genz. 
If they die, they die.

Kids pushing deadline few hours before delivery crediting it to mental health reasons is the strangest thing I’m dealing with as a manager right now. I wanna be inclusive and empathetic but what happened to pushing ourselves?

Hey guys, i am going to be a manager for the first time in a company that i have been working at for 3 years and I have people joining me from monday.. any tips for being a good manager?

Not sure you folks will agree with me, but people in IT especially the one's in senior positions (Director level) guys are running companies in 2024 but their thought process is somewhere stuck in the late 90's/early 2000's. 
They feel like what they have experienced or what they have been through is applicable in the current generation too. Be it from the perspective of working long hours or when having discussions around respectable increments/promotions. If we start giving them reasons as to how things are not working out they will end up going like "In our times it was difficult to get even 8% hike, We worked extra hours, we had limited access to technology etc etc".
How hard is it for them to realise that we live in the 21st century? Things have changed rapidly in the past 15-20 years from when they were working in the market. It's difficult to even convince them on anything as they have already made up their mind on how world was working, how it should work and how it will work in the future. 
Hope I was clear enough, but this is a serious problem in today's MNC (Sadly in some of the well performing startups)

For me age is genuinely just a number. And work is worship. Yet, having people who are often my age or sometimes 10-20 years older than me reporting to me - becomes a discussion. Why is “age” even a discussion if one has proved their merit and mettle?

In a country with a growing young population, we have some randomly contrasting values. 

Of course, basic respect for all is just a fundamental in the team’s culture. 

Do you think an employee should “respect” another employee just by the virtue of age?

Hearing alot about GenZ not being serious about work, lack of expected manners, careless about impact (these are not my opinions) etc, i was wondering this is the reason why 
a) millennials are able to save their jobs bcoz their managers are used to of certain way of working 
b) freshers are not getting jobs as it was 3-4 years back, even out of top colleges! (Source - Latest IIT placement reports)

is it true or i am just being optimistic that my job is secured? 😂
