For everyone wanting to quit their jobs but can’t due to the recession and ongoing layoffs, you need to build a better relationship with you manager.  

This way your work gets easier and hopefully you will buy yourself some time before you absolutely need to quit because of your horrible manager.

I'm currently pursuing my B.TECH in bioinformatics  ( 2nd yr) and I want to ustilize my time of vacations to upskill myself in the area which I find intersiting. After talking to some data analyst on linkden (some of them pivoted to this role from non-tech background, rest had done their b.tech or masters in statistics and then pivoted to D.A). Thus,I thought to give it a try by doing some course. I wanted general opnions about the courses provided by these institutions, is Excelr Thane's data analytcis course worth it? Is it just me or lately too many instagram ads I have been seeing selling courses ranging from AI, FE, BE, Data science, SQL, from today even some courses teaching power BI and all started appearing in my feed. 

Looks like so called tech influencer are trying to cash in on the current market conditions by selling their courses.

For those who don't know:

Fun fact, check the LinkedIn of the mentor. She wasn’t even a McK consultant and instead worked as research analyst. 🤦‍♂️

Why do these companies create courses like these? And who buys them??!

Disclaimer this is not a rant or this has nothing to put in bad way someones hard work.

With so many ppl making tutorials and selling courses online, I had my few observations. I welcome ppl to join on this discussion with their point of views as well.

The most important things is you need a solid company name on your resume, doesn’t matter what work you might have done there. Everyone knows the meatiest work in google is done at west coast office(just an example).

This gives you the starting point, I would not disagree to the fact that these guys put on the hard work to crack the interviews, but that doesn’t mean you start selling a dream to everyone. It will be like what harshad mehta did to his clients during the days.

If a person is working in some unknown company and even though the person teaches really well, I bet there will be hardly any takers for his/her course. 

Teaching is an art as per me, not everyone can be a great teacher. There are some good ones out there but majority of them don’t fall under above category. I would say they are social media influencers with a bit of tech knowledge. 

We have already lost a generation with rot learning and now with the rise of these ppl, the day is not far way when a person aceing the interview knows jack shit when given an actual problem to solve at workplace.

Most Edtech startups seem to be providing very little value, and are pure sales machines. Learning is super important, and I’m beginning to realise I’ve not done any structured online learning in the longest times (Coursera early days, Bucky Roberts on YouTube etc.)
