I feel this is going to hurt ola electric in the long run why would anyone want to buy a 1.5 lakh scooter which is considered a bike taxi. Swift dzire was considered a great car a few years back and now its entire image is that of a taxi.
Great, now some excitement on the rides. It can explode when payment fails!

When sales go down and you need to sell all those bikes
Just to recover vehicle costs, one has to travel a minimum of 50,000 KMs. Why would any sane person do that?

There is rumour that these bike once used for couple of months as a taxi, will be sold like new to consumers. Win-win for bhavish

I don't think it would. Rapido drivers are not driving for earning. Their main target drivers are students of even working professionals that can drive in their free time so no such motive for earning money for sustainence. Also their drivers can also sign up with an EV scooter. Just my 2 cents
Its a welcome step. I would say a social service. Karnataka govt wont try to ban bike taxis now. Whether ola succeeds or fails is irrelevant. It creates more options for consumers.
How would those get charged? It's wasting time not serving customers during charging time?
Will this be sustainable for the driver?
1) Huge initial investment
2) finance cost
3) time taken to cover 5 km can be easily half an hour
4) overwhelming support from autos and cabs
Amount seems bit low from a driver perceptive
EVs are the most suitable for anyone who drives a lot. The more you drive, the higher the cost savings are.
