When you switch career domains from SWE to PM, your previous experience will not be taken at face value. Today's job market is pretty difficult for people with low experience in a domain.

Hey there everyone, 

I hope you all are having a wonderful day.

I'll get straight to the point, I've been applying for jobs for last 3 months and i haven't got a single call back or interview calls from anywhere, I've applied to 100 of companies, from entry level job to mid senior level job, I've tried every job portal, I've tried getting referrals, hell I've sent 500+ cold emails, I've also tried tailoring my resume for the role.

Now a little bit about myself:


I'm currently working as a product analyst and have 3 YOE. I did my b.tech from tier 1 college and graduated in 2021.
Right after graduation i got a job with a decent package.

So considering my profile and YOE, it shouldn't be this hard tp get a job or even a call back!!

Can anyone tell me what am i doing wrong?, or anyone care to give any tips.

Ps: why the hell are companies asking for 5-6 YOE for an analyst profile??!!!

What should my strategy be if I want to 4x my current salary (let's say go from 7LPA to approx 30LPA) in the next 4-5 years? Is this a realistic expectation to have moving forward? With regards to my work ex; I started off my career with sales, worked for 7 months, left the job, upskilled myself a little bit and landed a product manager role. So in total I have about a year of experience (7 months in sales and rest out it as a pm). Also I have a engineerring background and have also completed my MBA, both of them from tier 2 colleges.

I have been working as an APM at a series C startup for the last 1 year. I did my MBA from a tier 1 college. Worked as a full stack developer for 2 years before that.

Am I underpaid? What would be a fair market compensation.

Should I try getting another PM job in a different company  or switch back to being a dev. ( Not liking PM that much, the dev role was a better experience.)

Currently I am trying to switch from service based company to better environment hopefully product based companies. Thing here is I am not getting any interview calls (I may blame 90days notice) but how product based companies hire… like i am checking naukari. It’s full of consulting companies mostly or service based companies. LinkedIn I could see some job posts but not actually hearing back  from them(maybe skill issue) . I am a final year mechanical engineering student who wants to get into product management, i have two internships and one certification but that's a different story as most of the people having better interships and skills are struggling to land an offer , i would be graduating in June 2024 and before that I want to land at decent product role at entry level , i have 6 months left what should I do , how can I stand out being a tier 3 college student with mechanical engineering background, i am learning and following product management since past 1.5 years

How to get into product management at an entry level?

I am a 2023 graduate and a product Enthusiast. I am from a top tier NIT but unfortunately no companies come for PM roles. I have no idea why. I have a placement in a very good company and a very good salary but im not satisfied because its not in Product. 

What are my options, what do I do? I am not at all interested in another rat race to the IIMs and MBA degrees. 
I just want to work and hustle.

I have 5 YOE in Android with product based companies.
current compensation 18.5 fixed 2 variable 4 ESOPs.
I just got an offer for 24 fixed, 1 Joining Bonus after 3 months.
What do you guys think of it?

Thoughts on the offer

I'm a 30Yo with 7years in the same industry however at only 6LPA. For someone with this much experience i surely deserve more hence i started looking out for opportunities and got a 9LPA offer. When I put down my papers the current company has promised appraisal but are not confirming how much will I get and when will it start from. And now I'm stuck because the new offer is running out and my current company is simply binding time. I'm really clueless and ffs i really need to start making good decisions. #Salary

I am working remotely at a SaaS company for 4+ years now. I started working since my final year of engineering. I joined here as a software engineering intern when the product was really new and booming. I have gotten bored of my work now, especially since I have been working from home all the time. I have very little social life. And I am getting fixed salary of about $1400 each month. I am thinking of switching to any Indian startup because I am not happy with my job being so monotonous and less pay at this level of experience. What should be the approach to crack the interviews? I have done DSA practice during my college days, but didn't crack any interviews with it. I am a full stack web developer but it doesn't excite me anymore and I want to stick to backend roles. And is it possible to crack an interview with for 30-40 LPA at this stage? Or do I have to climb up a salary ladder for a couple of years?
