How has your perspective on life changed over the years?

The number of times I've heard people say shit like 'traveling makes you grow as a person'. Someone please specify what this growth looks like because I've never experienced it. I don't think traveling is life-changing. I think most people have a romanticized, cinema-like idea of traveling that has been exaggerated even more because of social media. It definitely is fun to go on a vacation. But in most cases, that's all it is -- a source of entertainment. Maybe an ice-breaker the next time you go to some pretentious party. Am I missing something?

I am sorry my first post was supposed to be an achievement or CTC /salary but will surely come back one fine day with it too. Anyways, I'm just trying to ask: what helps you? In your deepest, darkest of times, when nothing is working? Forget antidepressants for a second! Besides those medicines, what are some things that make you less depressed? The reason why I'm asking is that I am depressed. I was diagnosed by a professional. Meds I don't like because they end up making me feel a) more depressed b) not at all myself; c) give me other terrible side effects Took therapy, antidepressants and what not for insomnia still don't have the right way to handle. I just wanted new ideas, nevertheless, in hopes of finding something that may actually do something. If you ever have been in depression and insomniac please comment thereby creating a "safe space" Can't we ? For saving one life. Apologies for the long post but sometimes I just have to say it

Age is a very controversial topic (which I find surprising, though I kinda understand why). Many people crib about growing up, and often remain too deep in the nostalgia of their youth - forever wishing to go back. Personally, I like growing older. I can see myself having improved significantly from how naïve I used to be. I’m not looking forward to creaky bones, degrading brain capacity and the eventual downfall of human civilisation (just speculating). But I feel that aging - and eventually dying - is what gives any sense of progression and conclusion to life. Would appreciate perspectives from others on Grapevine. What do you guys think? :) (Also, sorry if I ruined your day by randomly reminding you that you’re ageing. 🥲)

I got into a startup (informal) and invested my savings and also took loan from friends and family. It would take a couple of years to clear up but I am happy thwt I didn't let go.of the opportunity and the learnings also realised the following. 1.I enjoyed the thrill 2.When something has to go wrong,It will 3.My priorities changed (family,health,mental peace) 4.I am enjoying what I have more than ever and not cribbing about what I don't have. I am about to touch 40 and lose all savings(instead loans on the head) but I have never felt so calm ;) Anyone with a similar life altering experience 😉

Sometimes I usually think, Why do I lose our school and college friends one by one? Is this a sign of maturity, reality, or something else? I am just 25 years old, and within 3 years I have lost 90 percent of my circle and the few who left, with whom I usually get time to chat, call, or plan to get out. And I feel that some day I will also lose them. Can you guys make some comments that I have became matured or that this is the actual reality of damn life?

Just met a dear friend with 10+ yoe and earning 33L per anam. He doesn't want to get promoted or salary hike as he is getting enough as per need and wants to have good WLB. He is accumulating a 3cr corpus and planning to retire in 10 years in his hometown in Ranchi. Debt free - family house in Ranchi and married with no kids - single income. Isn't the amount very small/too risky? Considering anything can go wrong in future and you should work really hard in 30s to avoid that as much as you can. What's your opinion? Ps.
