I want to share my experience as a fresher at Accenture, my first company from a college placement. The first six months were fine, but then I faced severe mental harassment from my supervisor and manager. She constantly criticized my work and gave negative feedback, causing me immense stress. I often skipped meals and worked weekends to improve, but nothing helped.

Despite reporting the issue and requesting a supervisor change or a different track, my requests were ignored. The harassment worsened, affecting my physical health, and I couldn't eat or sleep properly. My manager controlled trivial aspects like where to sit and whom to talk to, making the situation unbearable. I was even forced to switch from a developer role to a tester, despite being trained as a developer.

The final straw was being placed on a Performance Improvement Plan (PIP) without a clear reason, with the same harassing individuals assessing me. I only had 1.9 years of experience then. I reported the mental harassment to HR and resigned due to deteriorating health, panic attacks, and weight loss. Despite having no other job offer, I couldn't continue. Even during my notice period, I was forced to complete PIP assignments, which led to suicidal thoughts and further health issues.

Now, I am jobless, feeling helpless and frustrated. With less than 2 of experience, I struggle to find offers in a down IT market and don't know what to do next.

I report to a manager who have multiple projects
There is this guy who is like 3-4 yrs experience but behaves like he is the boss when manager isn't around

Ruins standups every day with digressions and lengthy non sensical updates

He started trying overpower me with some nasty remarks 

Everybody is fed up with him,
With holds information, 
Treated interns as shit
Even seniors are troubled but don't confront aggressively

Got to know one of the recent left employee has reprimanded him and also shared the conflict with higher ups

They are saying no use as he behaves well with manager and his manager

I literally want to confront him and say to behave and act professionally

With his snarky remarks some of my days going bad
Being 11 years experience I feel so frustrated that I am still facing these narcissists


Please advise how to treat this prick in a good way and stop worrying


Ps I am all ok with years of  experience always feel good work place is major contribution for any ones win

I'm feeling really stuck and frustrated at work lately. Despite putting in my best efforts and consistently performing well, it seems like my manager is feeling threatened by my progress. He’s been rejecting my ideas and work without even reviewing them, and calling me out in meetings for not completing non-priority tasks. The environment has become really toxic and it's taking a toll on me. Has anyone experienced something similar? How did you handle it? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

For the 1st year in organization,  my peers tried to hurt me by insulting in public/ group meetings. When I reported the incidents to my leader he assured he will do something but nothing was done. 
After waiting patiently for 2 months and seeing increasing attacks from peers via other modes I reported the incident to the HR.

I work in  a company where I am daily abused they call me dumb and my manager says I lack intellect and it’s shocking I am engineering graduate where i should have taken arts. My team leads are no good they also leave no chance to abuse me or make fun of me. They sit right next to me and are busy making fun of me. On top of that this company tracks our mouse and keyboard activity with screenshot of our monitor every 10 seconds to evaluate activity even when in office and there is no remote work policy. Almost daily I am abused and my mental health is gone for a toss. I am in depression and also feel that maybe truck hit me before i go to office because daily I am ridiculed there. Remarks like : I will slap you if any change comes in PR. You are so dumb. Cannot code dumbo.  and see recession what will happen if we fire you is common in company.

I fear market situation. So i am confused what to do?

Respected Sir/Madam, 
 I am writing in regards to the current environment at our (PhonePe) workplace. I believe that there are several factors that could be addressed to create a better environment for employees, and I would like to bring these issues to your attention. 
 First, Our Top Management Leader Mr XYZ, ABC & STU is mentally harassing employees 
 and intimidation are common occurrences in the workplace. This is in the form of hostile comments, threatening to sack, creating undue pressure. It is creating a detrimental effect on employee morale and productivity. 
 Secondly the work-life balance is often out of balance, with long working hours (8:00 am to 10:00 pm and limited opportunities for relaxation or breaks, it is leading to burnout and stress-related illnesses. It is essential that employees are given reasonable working hours and frequent breaks to ensure their physical and mental wellbeing. 
 Fourth, These managers shout at employees on occasions by calling them on calls and asking random questions and harassing. This type of behavior is not conducive to creating a productive environment within the org. It only serves to create an atmosphere of fear and anxiety among employees. It is important that managers treat employees with respect and professionalism at all times. 
 Lastly, to say - Sales is a continuous process and it fluctuates day on day depending upon good and bad weather, political environment, absentism in team etc but managers above and down the line shout only for numbers without recognition for our hard work. This is leading to burnout and discontentment among employees who feel taken advantage of or undervalued. 
 Furthermore these action have had severe consequences in those leaders personnel family relationships, causing irreparable damage of their own life is trying to damage life of others by ruthless behaviour and poor decisions. 
 Finally I have decided to leave the organisation and I hope this will be taken into consideration when creating a p

Working for a Big 4 company has been terrible. They don't care about work-life balance; they treat us like dirt. 

They think it's okay to work even when we're sick. I start early and finish late every day, and they say it's normal. If I log off before 7, they act like it's a crime, saying, "Even bosses work late, so why can't you?" They even expect us to work on weekends, like it's no big deal. There's no real teamwork; everything feels controlled. I end up with all the work. The bosses are just as bad; you can't talk to them about your problems. Even if you're struggling mentally, they want you to work 12 hours a day. And getting a day off? 

It's like winning the lottery. This job is ruining my mental health. I can't sleep at night worrying about going back to work the next day. They don't care about us; they just want us to work non-stop and forget about our personal lives.

My seniors from different departments gave me feedback on one of my reports I presented, not constructive feedback but ok as I at least  got to know what I am doing wrong. But the very next day they are also shaming and belittling on the same mistake. This is something that they do often. I like the work here but not the people anymore. How to best handle this situation?

I had a boss who asked a colleague on their notice period to report to work when they were actually sick. 100+ fever on consecutive days. He took him to a client meeting, where he fainted and had to be taken to the hospital. 
The boss said - "Uski kismat hi kharab hai."

I earn a decent living ~32LPA as a Software Engineer. I really enjoy my work and it is always a joy working with smart people around you. 

I sometimes wonder if I didn't exist would it matter in the world. At work, I come up with great ideas and insights which my peers appreciate and support, but there hasn't been one thing that they took seriously and moved ahead with. 

My peers around me constantly belittle me, some unprofessional jokes about my competence and intellect, even though I am actually good at what I do and more. 

The backhanded compliments and sarcastic replies in front of other people in my company makes me sad beyond belief. It is almost like I give so much of time to this company and although everyone cares about the work I do but no one cares about me. 

My colleagues constantly try to one-up themselves by bullying juniors and laughing in their glass-walled conference walls. 

Incidents like these make me want to give up on work. I think the mix of giving all of myself at work(intensity and long hours), constant berating on my competence and the time I spend away from my family and "real" friends(not these fake work colleagues) makes me depressed as fuck. 

I am now understanding that you can never be happy in life because you can never have all that you want. You will give up something for the other. You think making more money will make you happier but you will just end up losing your sanity.

You can never be happy

Hang in there, friend. I can assure you that you can find happiness in the workplace. What you're experiencing is common but definitely not the norm. There are many places out there where people are decent and you wouldn't be treated so pathetically. I hope you find the opportunity to move out and cut yourself off from the vile people at your present employer.

Ever since I have come back this week from Diwali break, it feels like I made a fucking mistake going back home and taking multiple days off last week.

My manager is intentionally putting too much on my plate, while other peers are just chilling and laughing at me.
Now, he is saying that we're running late on timelines because of me and I am a disgrace. He is laughingly mentioning to me that he will fire me.

I have a history of clinical depression and bipolar disorder, this is triggering me a lot and I can't sleep really well at night. I feel like ending it all and leaving this company for good. I have savings worth 12 months of living expense.

Is anyone else facing similar issues after coming back from Diwali?

Worst day at work today. Feel like ending it all.

Why LTIMINDTREE is depressing to work with? No positive energy. There is no motivation. Is anyone feeling the same?

I am not depressed because of work or challenges, but only because of my manager.

As soon I was under this new manager in a new project, I didn't knew my life would get so terrible.

1 The project got  complicated because my manager couldn't understand the technical discussions.

2 Team lead was out in the starting itself because of the unethical or disrespectful behaviour of the manager.

3. Whole responsibility came over me. I did my tasks very well and even got appreciation from client side.
I was expecting appreciation from my manager too but instead got an escalation 😞.

Reason by manager::

1.  I don't provide clear status updates
--> reality:: I provide updates on slack,Dsm,jira every day with full clarity.

2. I take Unplanned leaves 
-->reality:: 2 sick leaves only till now (one leave in one month)

3. Lazy and unproductive and many more
--> reality:: I even help my senior with their tasks and who is doing the project then??

In this way, the manager wants to escalate with any way it finds.

When I tried to have a discussion and asked relevant reason, the manager was quite unable to ans.

My rating is also been spoiled 😮‍💨
Even the upper management is with The manager.

We the team of 3 people from which only I am left, both of them being escalated and forcefully resigned from the company.

I am been torchered with this escalations on a regular basis and I don't know how to tackle this situation.😞😞

What's a company secret you can share now that you don't work there?

A friend used to work as AVP at HSBC’s credit analyst team in Bangalore Office. Apparently, one of the female AVPs loves gossiping and went around the office saying our guy doesnt work at all and is shitting on a crucial project. When reported to the lead VP, he failed to take any action.

Upon threatening intimation to HR, the lady got wind of the whole situation and calls up our guy applogising and stuff. But the back bitching doesnt stop and this time our guy ends up leaving the toxic workplace.

No cookies for guessing who’s in line for promotion next.

Other reported incidents against which no actions were take
1) making juniors cry
2) deleting teams billable hours without informing anyone
3) not informing about leaves and then creating chaos over non completion of work

and the show is just getting started….

Need advice from the community. 
I've been with TCS for 1.5 years as an experienced resource, but despite my efforts, I haven't been assigned any projects. Instead, I’m constantly put on random trainings. When I raised this with HR and the Delivery Manager, I was met with excuses. Recently, they've even started applying leaves from the backend without my consent. I'm not looking to quit just yet, but I’m unsure of my next steps. Any suggestions or guidance would be greatly appreciated.

Harassment in TCS 🚨

Last year i moved to a product based company from a service based so naturally the first 6 to 7 months were hard on me in terms of not only learning the work culture but also understanding complex systems. Then when i started to get a grab on things i was shifted to a new team. Where it did not take me much time to get a hold of things as i had now understood the nature of my work. But during my annual performance review my manager comes up and tells me that you are being judged for the entire year and he absolutely hammered me in my review. To make matters worse he even told me of a PIP that i was going to be pit into. Now at this point i know that the work is not that difficult for me as i  own a module which i have slogged on for the last 6 months. I feel cheated and sad as my performance is not bad rather it is good. Even he acknowledged that but still he is doing this. What should i do? I have been feeling absolutely gut punched and have lost my confidence i know myself that i had faced problems initially but that was due me trying to figure out how things work but since i was dumped into another team my visibility got 0. He does not even know who i work with or reviews my work, and yet he is adamant on putting me in a PIP. I want to resign and leave. For the last 3 months i have worked for min 10 hours and this is the reward i get for putting in all the effort.

Any suggestions would help

Context:
So I'm a lawyer currently working with the Big4 as a senior consultant in the Business Consulting vertical. I've been here for the last 2.5yrs. I'm due for a promotion to manager this year. However due to multiple people leaving who I used to gel well with along with the fact that of late since the last 8-9 months the team I work for has become too pro work instead of looking into individual welfare has got me very dissatisfied with my work life here. 
Mind you that I'm given proper recognition for the work I do in terms of awards, retention bonuses etc. have all happened but since the last 3 months, this dissatisfaction has been brewing in me. Although there has been no negative incident which has happened to me directly, I've been informed of many conversations second hand where seniors have been behaving very rudely and in a rash manner with my other team members. 

All of this led me to thinking that before the going gets tough, I should venture out and look for better opportunities elsewhere. In the midst of my job search, I have received an offer today with a big Indian MNC in the Retail and e-commerce space to join their legal team as a counsel. 

Now that I have this offer, I am contemplating whether I should go for it as it would mean shifting cities with my wife. 

My wife is 50% against me shifting as it would mean leaving the Big4 and she keeps telling me that to tough it out and to see this as an opportunity instead of jumping ship as no indian MNC would be able to provide a better experience and exposure that a Big4 is giving me. 

Salary wise also, I've kept in mind that I won't be shifting unless it's a 30% hike along with relocation payment. However, i have a feeling that this MNC will provide that also if i ask for it. 

So there my ask to the forum here, should I shift or stay? 

Please lend me your wisdom!

P.S. This Indian MNC is big like Tata, Adani, Reliance Big (without taking any specific name)
