I interviewed with Microsoft for Sde-2 level role but they are offering L60 to me. Stocks are good since I don’t get Rsus as part if my comp in GS. Should I consider it? Recruiter is not budging for negotiation at all. Base is almost same

My current base is 24 and base they are offering is 25.5 with 6L joining bonus and 50k usd stocks. But I am due promotion in December in GS
I think your are in the upper band of L60 compensation. Pretty good offer.
They may increase by 50k more, but not much than that.
Calculate the WLB.
Since you have stocks that will vest in 4 years, I think Microsoft offer is better. For 1st year 7.5k worth of stocks - 37% tax = 2.3L worth of stocks
So you can evaluate if 24+promotion hike >= 25.5+2.3+6.

If you are not in hurry, get a promotion and leave GS. 24 + promotion hike + job switch hike would be far better than current offer in hand. Additionally tiitle upgrade 🙌
Let go of Microsoft... The recruiter is just trying to show attitude coz of brand name..... Let that bitch have a taste of her own medicine
