I'm sad to say that Grapevine is a toxic company (literally 🦇)

Gave an interview for Product Ops at Cred. Didn't convert, but the overall experience was great: 1. HRs were empathetic and helpful - called after a week to give detailed feedback (covered what they liked, didn't like, what they were expecting) 2. Interviewer was also nice and keen to know more about my experience They were expecting a good understanding of growth and metrics, and I didn't have much experience with that, so I got rejected, but overall, it was an excellent experience. I have been putting all my recent bad interview experiences here, so why not also put a good one! :)

I've been observing a concerning trend lately on this platform, and I believe it's high time we rethink the way we treat startup founders. Take a moment to consider the dedication and courage it takes to leave a secure job and venture into the world of entrepreneurship. I feel Companies like Dukaan, AppX etc were unnecessarily mocked here based on one side of opinion, I've had the privilege of working closely with a startup's CTO for the past two years, and it's been an eye-opening experience. Startups are like fragile ecosystems where every member plays a crucial role. However, what I've noticed is that sometimes employees who find it challenging to keep up with the dynamic startup environment tend to cast blame on the founders and the company culture. Let's remember, every startup is a journey of learning, growth, and innovation. Founders make mistakes, learn from them, and strive to create something meaningful. They invest their time, energy, and resources into building something from scratch. Instead of mocking them, we should applaud their courage and determination. But, what's even more disheartening is the toxic behavior exhibited by some employees here on Grapevine. It's disheartening to see individuals intentionally targeting someone's reputation due to personal grudges. Instead of resorting to negativity, let's try to understand the challenges startup founders face. Put yourself in their shoes; empathize with the pressure, uncertainty, and sleepless nights they endure to bring their visions to life. We should strive to be a community that supports and uplifts one another, especially those who are trying to make a difference in the business world. Let's promote constructive criticism and empathy, recognizing that we all have our unique journeys, struggles, and successes. #SupportStartups #EmpathyMatters #GrapevineCommunity 🌟

50% layoff at a Bangalore based health tech startup. Founder had no shame or guilt. Has raised funding recently but chose to fire people again. This is the third layoff in the last 1.5 years. Terrible management, declined variable pay. Severance is to paid in the next 4 months. Just trying to pivot the company into ‘AI’ without any plan whatsoever.

Hi I am new to the whole process of creating a passport and want to ask how other people who may have had a use case similar to mine went ahead with getting a passport. My use case: I have been living on rent in Bangalore since the past 4-5 years. My family too lives on rent in Mumbai. I mentioned this because as far as I know one needs a permanent address and address proof to submit for a passport, can someone who has dealt with a similar use case help me out please? What should I do?

If one goes by Grapevine, everyone in tech is working under duress and is being paid peanuts for it. Appreciate that this anonymous platform offers a safe space for people to let off some steam, but increasingly, starting to feel that regular exposure to such toxic levels of negativity is much worse off for mental health.

Recently whenever I come across any post on GV asking about the culture of a particular company people generally point out it to be toxic... Even in big companies like Swiggy, Upstox etc. Are there even any good product companies in India with decent TC + WLB + Culture??

We had just gotten done with the morning standup and a bat entered our office. It started flying everywhere above our heads. Just like it happened in the show Most people ran out of the office, but some sone cold people stood there working and unaffected Lastly, the bat is still somewhere in our office. It hid itself somewhere in the ceiling and hasn’t been located 😭
