By their very existence, I hate “influencers”. The objective is to manipulate people enough to do some advertisements and repeat. Much like crypto influzas last year, we have leetcpde influenzas and I guess AI related influenzas are next

Doing leetcode might be good, because now a days company want DSA for all roles, but reality of working on live project is quite different.

Do dont use tree, DP in real life too often, there you need to be street smart and not DSA expert

And all influencers are from tier-3 college, and everyone think going to college is waste and everyone needs to do remote jobs and leetcode.

PS: also saw an influencers who wrote he traveled by train for first time in life in 2022 (his 4th year of college)

Have come across many YT influencers cum freelancers cum podcasters - barely out of college but claiming to earn in crores. Not sure how true that is but if so, I do feel inferior though I am at a high paying job. Their constant show off makes it worse - one guy claimed in front of Bikchandani that he made 35L/month

I genuinely sometimes don't understand how influencers/content creators earn so much money and just spend on anything. It's too frustrating to see that you work your ass off everyday for 9-10 hours and get those weekends to chill and still can't save up enough money to go to Europe for 2 weeks. On the contrary, the influencers who don't have any fucking talent just do some random bs podcast, some clothing haul, some grwm and then go to a Taylor Swift concert and go to 5 countries in a year with the most luxurious stays. Is it just me or is it frustrating for everyone to see? They will meet any celebrity, buy the latest smartphone, have the best parties etc. It's like I want that life but I don't think I'll be able to ever get there.

I also capture moments through photos and videos while on vacation, but some influencers take it to another level.

For them, the holiday seems more about being on camera than truly experiencing it. It's their job, but we regular folks can fall into the trap of comparison.

I've noticed friends comparing their real experiences with what they see in vlogs, often feeling disappointed when things don't match up.

Recently, I watched a video where Rishikesh was portrayed in such a glamorous way that it was hard to recognize. I visited Rishikesh myself two years ago and appreciated its raw, laid-back vibe, but this influencer made it look like a luxury destination.

Most of the people just keep adding so many irrelevant pictures to their posts!! I mean what do they get out of it. If it’s anything to do with regards to the picture, I understand. Other than that, it has become a trend to add photos to the posts. They say they will have greater reach and greater views. It’s so annoying. I don’t understand the difference between Instagram and LinkedIn. Most of the time I feel Instagram is better than LinkedIn. All these so called entrepreneurs have also started doing this shit and feels 😖😣

Like providing content is fine but with every second kid launching a DSA boot camp or Product Topmate link is probably shilling to gullible students.

Then it was COVID > Layoffs season.

Now we see Instagram influencers from TCS, Accenture, WIPRO, HDFC Bank, SBI, Junior Constable from CRPF & so on…

Disclaimer this is not a rant or this has nothing to put in bad way someones hard work.

With so many ppl making tutorials and selling courses online, I had my few observations. I welcome ppl to join on this discussion with their point of views as well.

The most important things is you need a solid company name on your resume, doesn’t matter what work you might have done there. Everyone knows the meatiest work in google is done at west coast office(just an example).

This gives you the starting point, I would not disagree to the fact that these guys put on the hard work to crack the interviews, but that doesn’t mean you start selling a dream to everyone. It will be like what harshad mehta did to his clients during the days.

If a person is working in some unknown company and even though the person teaches really well, I bet there will be hardly any takers for his/her course. 

Teaching is an art as per me, not everyone can be a great teacher. There are some good ones out there but majority of them don’t fall under above category. I would say they are social media influencers with a bit of tech knowledge. 

We have already lost a generation with rot learning and now with the rise of these ppl, the day is not far way when a person aceing the interview knows jack shit when given an actual problem to solve at workplace.

Do you guys feel that all these years of hardwork, getting best education & hustle to get decent/top job is no way remunerative to what people on SM(insta/yt) influencers make by simply sharing their life/cooking videos/GRWM/nutritionists etc, which we audience consume mindlessly.

Does this change in career mindset going to make children opt out of higher education? I see a lot of people below 18yrs to have below average scientific mind.

Ofcourse, there are people in the same age group doing amazing stuff, building startups etc but an average kid seems lost in the digital space.
