Interesting Negotiation in Startup’s Salary!

I recently interviewed at an MNC and my interviews went great. They also gave a case study. At the time of final negotiation for salary, i asked for standard 40-45% hike. However they took some time and came back with an offer of almost 95%-100% and literally more than that if i include yearly fixed bonus component. This was a big surprise to me, and they states that we have done this taking care of pay parity, etc. I am very happy, However, i want to know is this common or happened with anyone else? Are there such good companies, people and HRs... Anyone having any thoughts on this?

What is a reasonable ask while negotiating with startups? Should I ask for a match or hike of X% over my TC/annum (52lk Base + 8lk Bonus + Rs30lk RSUs), or should I negotiate only over the Cash (Base + Bonus) component? A startup I’m negotiating with is not considering the RSUs I have and is offering a 8% hike only on the cash component, and is throwing in ESOPs (paper money) instead. What do I do?

I've recently got an offer from a Unicorn Startup, and they pay pretty well (My friends do work there) But I'm getting lowballed. They're offering only 50% of what they offer, and even after having so many calls, they're at max pushing it to 70%, which doesn't make sense to me. They are claiming my Current CTC & saying they can only offer a 30% hike. I don't even get that point. I think ur new CTC shouldn't be based on your previous especially if you are already paying so much to others. Getting less than what my juniors are earning in the same position, baffles me. How do I move forward? I've clearly said that I'm only interested in this amount of money. At the same time, I feel it's better than what I make right now (not much better tho, because WFH vs WFO) I'm okayishhh with the work I do, but the brand name is also a valid concern (I do have a few brand names in my Resume, and that does actually impact) How do I push more? I've clearly told them that this is what you pay & they accept it but constantly raise my Current CTC as their brahmastra. Also, I don't like the tone she's talking with (repeatitvely making me feel inferior about current CTC & my less exp & all), nor do I want to lose my temperament Also one question, they've asked me for the Offer letter, and I have stupidly handed it to them. Is that a norm? What to do in that case next time? I already told them before interviewing how much base I'm expecting.. And they said it would depend on your interviews (where I'm a strong hire) & CTC. And now they're behaving weirdly. What to do!

In India, it's the norm where candidate has to show all his cards (past 3 salary slips or increment letter etc) to prospect employer which sets the benchmark. However, the candidate usually has no idea abt the pay range for the JD, the KRAs, team strength, budget, and the monetary value he is expected to bring to the firm. Most firms also put 90day notice period which makes it difficult to change jobs. How do you folks try to negotiate pay? What %hike over current is a starting point? If no other offer is in hand, but the firm is strong arming you to a less pay, how have you/would you negotiated in such scenario?

I’ve been offered a 30% hike on job switch while I demanded the salary range in the JD which is 100%. I got a lower base according to industry standards currently. When asked, said the work expectation from the role posted is more than what they think I can do. Then why even offer me the role?

I joined a start-up (SDE 1) after working in an IT service giant (one of the WITCH) for the past 2 years. There we didn't have any discussion regarding the amount of raise expected, they used to just assign us the percentage (peanuts) that they felt. Here in the start-up I have heard that we have a say about how much % increase we are expecting post review cycle. I have some questions, 1. Do managers generally know about their subordinate's salary? 2. If not, then how do such discussions take place? Just based on % increment? 3. Or Only feedback is discussed with the manager and salary negotiation is done with HR (who knows my salary)?

tell me a good ballpark for negotiation where i am moving from a 5-day-a-week company to a (5+1) based on the workload a week company. from one startup (under 100 employees) to a similar company. tell me what's the baseline hike, what's average, and what's the best i can get?

Hi I am working in a pre-seed startup. The product is good and the industry has scope to grow. I am their first hiring, as well as the only Backend Engineer till now. I am about to complete 1 year. Company's current valuation is 2M at 11% and I have recieved 5Lakh as Esops vested in 4 years in last year's CTC. I want to negotiate for a direct equity handover apart from my ESOPS at Uniocorn valuation of the company with my CTO in coming months like 1% equity.
