Interviewer said I'm undervaluing myself, how much should l ask?
l attended an interview today and told my expectation is 24 LPA, but they said for my skills, they were expecting to give around 26 to 30 LPA. Now they've asked me to think about the proper CTC and give it to them. I don't want to ask for 30 LPA either. How can I revert back and how can I ask them for ~28 LPA now? History: I've been leading teams and developing projects that were used by millions of people. Worked with startup's that were in rock bottom and bought them to a good position. Finished college last year. But getting into full time for the first time. Been working as a freelancer/contractor for 5+ years.
This is the first time I am hearing recruiters saying that someone is undervaluing themself.
Till now I just read posts on linkedin where recruiters were preaching about themselves.
Is it even real?? Hard to believe but if it's then good for you man go ahead and ask them approx 27 to 29 lpa and also ask them how much is fixed in this and how much variable.

Bakshi Babu is right. Tell them to offer in the range of 27 to 29 lpa. Then you will not look greedy and you will look honest and stable also. Which company is this? If it is an old and stable company then they don't like games. Plus if you overvalue yourself now then chances are that they will fire as soon as they hired. So think long term and be reasonable since they are also being fare.
Ask for 35. If they are saying you should be getting 26-30 then definitely their budget is further more.

He will lose the job if he does that. They want stable person. Not a greedy person.

I have seen it happen. HRs don't like these kinds of games. I have seen many important positions getting sacrificed by the HRs because they didn't like the greedy behaviour of candidate. And HR have the job to someone who was less qualified. Greed will get you hire and fire kind of jobs
