India was an epitome of human civilisation during gupta/maurya/ashoka ‘s ruling years along with chinese rulers who are also old but indian rulers were more richer due to huge trade with kingdoms but now we are sitting at 21st century world and due to colonialism our country has skipped industrialisation and manufacturing altogether which is necessary for success in todays era. So only with agriculture and growing service sector we can never be vishwaguru just by soft power as we have to export our innovations and bring more foreign capital for prosperity. There is some push for manufacturing recently and if it grows and pulls put remaining population out of poverty that will be game changer but with advent of ai we are slowly moving to socialism

The "under developed" town that you talk about, makes more money than SDE in cities. To understand the level of growth, just look at the number of shops that open in your area. compare it to 10 years ago. The growth is stupendous. People are coming out left/right and center to start a new business. launch on thier own. This level of positivity / confidence doesn't come unless people are at least 50% positive that they will make money. This is true growth. On your comment on copying apps, we are alteast 15 years behind in manufacturing, at least 10 years behind in cutting edge IT. Our internet speed have just become faster. Dont know how many remember, 10 years back we were still talking about 144 KBPS in mobile speed. for 1GB data/month we paid 330rs. Not just apps we bring only copies of products like cars/ machinery as well. We are a trading country today because for the last 60 years of socialist garbi hatao policies. If we move in the same pace, we will leapfrog into a consumer economy that go thru an export based economy. Being a consumer economy is the best economic conditions one can aspire. We are on the right track.
