It sucks

Hello all in my project whatever I'm doing I'm getting huge criticism from my lead everytime , everyone except him is very good with me. To be Frank , I am understanding and doing a lot's of stuff to impress him too. I have only 1.5 yrs of experience he is having 15+ yrs of experience but the way I'm pushing myself I'm happy , sometimes working 12-14 hrs a day. But whatever even small project related doubts also he is not bearing with me. Daily I'm going deep down mentally but cann't express this with anyone to my family nor with my colleagues. Can anyone suggest what can I do , is this common in IT sector. This is first time I'm experiencing this I had interned at one of faang there i didn't faced like this everyone encourage s my idealogy and will corrects me if I'm wrong? Can you please give some motivation.

I did that with my previous manager. He was extremely toxic for me. I ended up complaining about him multiple times and since nothing happened, I quit. The relationship soured to the point that we didn't even look at each other, let alone greeting the other. I know I might be an extreme case but has anything remotely similar happened to any of you?

So I am a fresher who joined this decent company where they pay me a decent salary. I got allotted to a project in place of an Senior Swe. It's been 2 months and I have been given tickets regarding features requests . The work is not easy at all. The team consists of 5 people where there are only 2 developers me and my manager. He is mostly busy so he just provides me an overview about the code base which is 30 years old . The languages are C, C++ and C#. I have been working on this feature request for the past 3 weeks and the pressure is immense. I am feeling so terrible that I am not able to deliver. I just don't like this feeling. I try and try and try but some things are just way above my expertise. I have always been good at coding but to contribute to a real world project is really tough. It's also quite frustrating as at every step you have to deal with multiple problems. My manager is a good guy overall but today he told me that I really need to amp up my game. And deliver. I just don't like to be mediocre but I am just stuck at this point. Am I overthinking? Or me feeling this way is normal. I just want suggestions from different people of this sub!!

I’m a very private person and I was a bit confused whether I should write here or not, but anyway. So, day before yesterday I was sitting on my chair after dinner and was thinking about my life and what the hell am I doing. I realised that, Saala bachpan se aaj tak race me hi bhaag raha hun. Pehle school me 1st, 2nd, 3rd aane ki race me. Then acche college milne ki race me. Then uske baad acchi job milne ki race me. Then uske baad agar ladki chahiye toh uske liye bhi ek race hai (Don’t have a gf, plz don’t take me wrong, it was a realisation) My current daily routine is like this: Wakeup everyday, write code, go gym, dinner, and then sleep and repeat this cycle everyday. School ke dost peeche chhoot gaye, college ke dost apni life me busy ho gaye, colleagues se main zyada baat nhi karta and main akela padh gaya. Feels like life is not intriguing anymore, it has no spark left. Its so painful to live everyday. I feel like I don’t want to live any more, I want to die but I can’t cuz of 2 reasons. 1. I’m the only son of my parents. 2. If I die like this, then I won’t be able to come out from the birth cycle. That’s it 🙏🏼

Lets use this space to describe our managers- Mine is so toxic, Has a very sad life though he is married and has one year old baby, jealous to next level,No boundaries! My manager is the most stupidest person I have ever come across in my life. Good managers are leaders on whom you can fall back to when you fuck up! Mine is so toxic that he only wants to take credit of best things done in the organization and everything otherwise he would just put on me. Keep on assigning tasks at odd hours, will msg why is this not done that not done! He has even tried silent treatment with me, as if that would work 😂 I mean he would try to show me that he is so pissed off with me because I choose not to attend his calls in off office hours, or maybe when i choose not to respond to his bullshit. Keeps getting deep into the arses of management. Would be first one to attend any parties and also the last one to leave the vicinity. Sometimes I feel so pissed off when I see people like him not been held responsible for a toxic culture at the workplace and how simply they just get away in a day by putting everythibg else on others. Being on a leadership designation, he is still so much insecure that he would leave no stone unturned to keep me out of the meetings where any achievements or good stuff is being discussed 🤦🏼‍♀️

Hi, I recently went on a vacation and informed my manager (CEO) that I won’t be available for a week. He did not say anything but I could sense that he is not happy. On my vacation, I get his text asking what’s the progress at work? I Informed him about my vacation but he asks me to work for 1-2 hours ON A VACATION (This is when they promised flexibile work policy) I politely decline to which he doesn’t say anything. Now, when I’m back, he has started to micromanage and says my work is disappointing according to the standards? I could get that he must be unhappy because a few things didn’t go our way. But, his whole behaviour has changed and he has started acting hostile towards me. I try to ignore and carry on with my work but it gets on my nerves sometimes. Do I continue silently or should I confront? If yes, then how?

I think we all face this, how do you deal with relatives who always try to put you down in every possible way, constantly compare salary, foreign tour, abroad jobs, new car, new home, education institute, vacations , like they are the people who feel happy by making someone hurt or feel bad about themselves. I can't have a comeback because my parents just tell me to bear them for the time being. But sometimes it just piles up and I feel like thrashing them like hulk. Someone please help me with this. Help me to deal with this, hulk toh ban nahi paunga.
