I'm currently working on an FTE job - wherein the offer letter its mentioned "During the term of your employment with the Company, you may not engage in any employment or act in any way, which either conflicts with your duties and obligations to the Company, or is contrary to the policies or the interests of the Company."

Now, I'm getting enough time and I want to consider working in a 0-1 startup, and the new company I'm joining will know about my current employer - The above mentioned is the only clause the current employer have regarding working in other company. Can the current employer legally put a case anytime in the future if they get to know this? - what are the loopholes I can use here?

What position I can join in as (Consultant, Advisory role) - Still an early career professional in order to avoid conflict afterwards.

Needed quick Legal Advice - On Moonlighting

My last company which is a early stage startup has 1 yr non compete clause in the employee agreement and which they asked us to get signed 4 months back on a very short notice to comply with investor requirements. We did it because of just compliance matter. Now I don't have good equation with them and have good offers from competitors.

Please suggest should I proceed with the offer or look for something else which doesn't fall into non compete. Please share your experiences.

Hey folks, 

This competitor's CEO reached out to me recently and we talked for an hour. 

In the end, he asked my current TC which was quite surprising. He then offered me a 100% hike + 10L esops. 

Although the offer is tempting. I have a problem. There is a Non-Compete clause in my offer letter for 8 months. 

How can I tackle this? The CEO said that, if I make up my mind he will make sure that my current org doesn't know any of this. 

Please help me with all the suggestions!!

My company is sort of building a new product and the current product will be archived once the new one takes off.

I’ve already give my best for last 2 years to build such a deep tech product and has kind of decided that this will be my last year depending on the new sales.

With this new product inline that changes everything, this will take another 2 yrs to materialize in terms of sales

However can’t I build this on my own is a new thought that have popped up into my head.

Is it wrong to build a competition to the current company

Hi Guys,

I am currently working at a startup and was previously working at an IT MNC for 3 months. I was put on the bench and laptops/assets were not even delivered for 2 months of requesting. When the assets arrived there was 3 weeks of compliance and regulatory training before which my position was eliminated as a result of business restructuring and downsizing. I got my startup offer (strategy type role)by then and I resigned from the IT firm with proper reliving letter and fnf settlement. I have now got an offer from a boutique consulting firm(after working in my startup for around 6 months) . I have however not mentioned this IT mnc in my resume at all since I did not gain any kind of work experience at this firm and it was not adding any value to my resume in terms of the types of roles I am looking for, I wanted to keep my other internships and startup tenure as they were more valuable. Is this going to cause an issue if I undergo a bgv process in my new firm? I have all the proper exit documents and there is no overlap of employment anywhere. Please advise. I am a 2022 pass out.

Would you guys consider joining a startup with only 3-4 people in the office? I’m a recent graduate and got an opportunity to work with a team of 4 

however i’m not sure if i should join because i’ve always wanted to work at bigger organisations and get that corporate feeling and i im also an introvert and hate being “seen/perceived” (iykwim) and that’s the case with smaller teams

I work at a startup. And It’s super funny but I think my boss is moonlighting. Here are the facts: 

- he’s hardly focused 
- he’s hardly trying to expand her role at work 
- he’s regularly on external calls taken secretly 
- he doesn’t care to understand what’s going on in other parts of our company

Why is moonlighting unethical? Let’s keep legality aside for a minute although it is not illegal. 
 Your senior leaders are directors at multiple companies. 
 CEO of startups like Lenskart, shadi etc are sitting on TV for personal investments which they will make money of and spending hours in shooting. Those same CEOs layoff as per their whims and fancies. 
 But when a lowly employee with a meagre salary tries to increase his/her earning potential, this crab mentality kicks in and it becomes unethical. 
  
 A person can be too good to handle both(or more) jobs superbly. However, if there are performance issues, you deal with that as an employer. It’s not like people working on a single job don’t underperform. 
  
 Also, there are 24 hours in a day and I am “supposed “ to work for 8 hours. Mathematically, a person can work 3 jobs in a day (and try to sleep at work). 
  
 We all rooted for Will Smith in the “Pursuit of Happiness “.
