I am a BE graduate after college I tried govt exams but  couldn't clear it...after that i learned a software on my own i joined a small company which  trained me little nd projected me as a experienced to a client, i cleared interview and got placed to the client but that project is too complex and even fr small tasks i am taking weeks to complete....daily i feel bad nd humiliated fr not completing tasks and people are not friendly here... Should I see this as an opportunity or this is wrong...will other IT companies to do the same

I’m currently working in a support project and whatever I heard from my seniors and fellow guys at work is that nobody stays with this client and company for more than a year or two. I joined here as a fresher with some really good dev skills but the work and tech here is not allowing me to put them to use. I’m feeling like quitting from here, but again need to brush up my skills as I did not put them to use over a period of 14 months. Also there is a lot of micromanagement going on and I’m not comfortable with that. No one takes ownership of work and tries to push it to you and make you work on it.

I'm currently working in a service based company from last 2.5 years. I had joined there as a fresher. The project that I'm working on had som growth initially but now there's literally no growth. I'm doing the same exact thing every single day and despite working extra hard all year long, I was not given any hike! I'm really feeling depressed right now. Please help. I've wasted 2.5 years of my life and I've hardly any expertise in any of the tech I've worked on.

Hi folks, I am a fronted developer with  5+ years of experience in TCS. I am doing well in my previous project but that is complete then I joined another project where I am struggling to do a smaller job as well. I am not sure what's going to happen to me every time I am the only person who always points out even if I make that mistake or not. Even though nothing motivated me, day by day my performance was going down I am feeling tired from this same time I am thinking about leaving the project and searching for something new but they are not releasing me. Due to this I visit the doctor and he says you are in depression and suggest some pills. Nothing motivates me here. Can anyone suggest to me what I do now.

I joined cognizant 2022 since then no hands on experience due to client issues. But I have good knowledge in SQL, Python ,Gen AI, Deep Learning, NLP I love to work on AI / ML ,So I learned all this by my own . I am applying in TMP but the managers are just seeing my message and they are not even responding. If they respond also asking for hands-on how can I get hands-on without any opportunity. In the office also I was like going to everyone and asking if there is any vacancy in their project. It's like begging, I don't feel good. I am trying to apply outside but they are asking for 3 years of experience. I don't have any idea in the software field if I knew this all before I could have resigned before 1.5 years.I was waiting for the projects. Now I don't have any hope . Can anyone help me regarding this?

I am a regular 3.5 yr exp web dev. I joined Grapevine, just to express my inner thoughts and it's much better to be anonymous.

I got stuck in a void !!! Rn what I a getting is much less as per my experience. The daily routine seriously makes me feel I am a worthless and unskilled person. The type of person who if quits his job will never find another all because I am not good at anything. The main fight is I want to switch to some PM or consultant role but I am filled up with self-doubt and scared of thinking that I am unskilled regular labour, who has somehow gotten into IT...

Whether you call it self doubt/laziness /indiscipline things are not helping me to grow and crack a new job with a better daily routine.

Appreciate your suggestion/feedback.

But please help me and suggest to me how can I get into a technical consultant or any managerial role.

I've done my Btech in EC from NIT. Worked for 2Y as a dev in IT Services co. Then I did my MBA from one of the old IIMs. 
Got placed as a "Consultant" in one IT services co, where JD said the role is client facing and business centric. Have been working here for close to 2Y. Basically I'm part of an Agile project team, as another Dev/QA resource. I basically do QA for project releases and occasional SQL scripting. Tried internally to switch to a Project/BA role but this experience is hindering me. Outside it's even worse as I don't even get shortlisted.
I believe I have good skills to excel in Product/BA/Project roles. But not getting them as I don't have any prior experience. My confidence is very low now and my career seems to go nowhere.

The pay is also worse, 21.6LPA currently ( of which 17.6 is fixed). I'm not complaining and this money is a lot for most people. But it's not even close to what my juniors after 2 batches earn. 

The only upside in my job is no pressure and can work remotely most days.

What should I do ?
Shall I learn AI/ML and move to an Individual Contributor role ? How to get shortlisted for these after prep?

Any advice or leads would be helpful, TIA.

Been working in this firm from quite sometime.
Its a service based firm and i work for an American fintech giant.

Worked hard, led upgrades, learnt new stuff, delivered complex usecases.
Recently i started seeing alot of discrimination from this client as now they have started seeing contractors as 3rd class ppl.
It started with not inviting contractors in business discussions to now reached a point where new joiness (full time employees) of theirs are taking credit on a work which i worked on.

Sad stuff.

I know i have heard that corporate is not family but it hurts to see how self centric people are in this world.
I have been very dedicated for them all this while.

Now I think its about time to jump ship & get the due respect elsewhere.

Need some suggestion

The sinking ship here is my career. After a decade in IT space, i am feeling myself turning into a useless dino( project management work). 
I did mba and switch tracks from being a QA, this has put me in a services org where I am doing project management work for client while being passed off as a data architecture manager. 
This is sooo messed up, I feel I will fail to find a job if my client chucks me out. 
What are your thoughts on this weird situation

I recently graduated from a Tier-1 MBA college and got placed in a well-known digital firm as an Assistant Project Manager. I underwent compliance training etc for the first month and then got aligned to a tight deadline project as a developer, as there were no openings related to my expertise available. Note that I have no formal experience as a developer. The project is off the rails as no one here knows how to do their job properly. I am really exhausted and my health is getting affected. What can I do regarding this? What options do I have? Any guidance would be very helpful!

After all they promised to give training in Full Stack Java, but after I joined they giving training in C and every day manager threat us after C I'll conduct one exam & according to result I'll throw you out, After all it's a MNC but not offering a single money in training. Context- I’m 30 YO. Have 4.5 years of overall experience and 3.5 years in User Experience Design. Ive got a background in physical product design & I landed in UX due to non availability of 3D projects in TCS.

My leaning in UX since 3.5 years has been hands-on.
I’ve worked for a client for almost 3.5 years as a user experience designer. I used to work in silo 95% of the time and hence didn’t know the right YX methodology to use during the UX research process, didn’t know the rights questions that I need to ask to both the stakeholders and users as I didn’t educate myself through any online courses regarding the same. Before I graduated, I was told be a few friends that ‘UX is doable and it’s very easy up learn. If you can pursue physical product design, you can easily do UX.

Fast forward 4 years, I’m compiling all the work I’ve done for the client and I’ve realised a lot of loopholes and lack of depth both in the design process and in the designs. Neither I asked the right questions during the User interview nor my design fully solves the user’s problems completely. I have to add these 2 projects I d worked for the client as I need to showcase real world projects in my portfolio.

I want to switch not just due to bad pay. I want to switch for better exposure, for growth and to learn to work in a team.

I can’t go to the client and gain more clarity on the needs and requirements of the project as I no longer work with them.

I will re-educate myself regarding the user research methodologies, best UX practices , UI design principles etc.

But how do I showcase these projects which are flawed and has a lot of loopholes?

I have been part of one company for 9 years. I feel like bored and mundane.  I am trying to switch jobs for past one and half year and unable to crack any interviews. Each interview slips because of some reason. Now my current company based on my performance asked me to find job somewhere else within in few months.. I am still unable to clear interviews.. Sometimes feel very downward because of this but deep inside I feel like I am more worth than this.. Market is also so uncertain now.. My salary is 32L.. I feel like I am stuck in my career. Any advice or recommendation?

Hi everyone, sorry for the rant in advance!

 So I have recently joined as a consultant and got tagged in a project 2 months back. Given that it was a stress period deployment, the pressure at times has been maddening. Besides, I am a fresher from a not so same background, so I often take a little time more than others in a few matters in grasping things. At times, I am scolded by manager for some minor mistakes which I do not complain about as I consider those as learning steps but sometimes it gets me that despite working for more than 12 hours a day ( not even getting to charge that many hours). Not that I am looking for any easy way out but some constructive suggestions would really help. Thanks in advance.

Hi. I got placed in a very good company through my college placement as an intern. Due to large team size they didn't converted me as a full time employee. But then I got call from another team and go through the interview process like technical rounds mangerial round and hr round. I got offer in that team. Initially they gave me recorded KTs and assigned me few courses regarding the product and I completed that. But the problem arises when I am implementing what I learned from KTs and courses. Not all time, but I reach out to people for some clarity nd then I solve the issue. Within a month i was assigned a task which requires assistance from another team which has only two people from india to assist here. So that task took more time than it usually takes for an experienced member. My Manager on one on one speak like reach out to people when you need help, but when I do he speak like why are you wasting whole team time. And I'm the only one who is at the entry level post and others are seniors and they didn't showed any intrest in training or assisting me. So I'm bit worried about asking our for help. But I do resolve customer side bugs not just trouble shooting also the code changes. As the day went of, one day he said like from day one it's a disappointment from you and I really didn't understand what he saw in me in my first day and in the follow up meeting he says like ur performance is not up to the mark. I'm so depressed by those words and waiting for them to terminate me. When I applied for a week leave for my family function he called me in the morning and said you are terminated. And the reason he told me was performance issues. And I really didn't understand that is this a genuine reason? Thoughts on this.....

PS: I got terminated a week back..

You were young talent and gave out sharp ideas. Slowly corporate got to you and laziness found it’s way. Knowledge is outdated and your skills restricted to current role. Market scares you but you don’t want to confine yourself to current job. Emi’s mounted up leaving you with only option to continue at current place and kickstart your passion and start your learning journey again. Intimidated by new tech and unsure of the direction you oscillate at same point for months together. This is a mid-career question mark. Role says senior, but senior in what? Reaching this inflection point?
