i will be joining college this year. the only thing bothering me is i have 3 year gap in my studies i didn't joined any college after 12th because i had very less marks in class 12th then i gave boards again. Now overall i have 3 years of gap. How much everything  going to affect my placement in college.

At the time of Boards i got some Anxiety and panic and it affects my 12th marks so badly....
However I got 68% in 12th and 58% in PCM.🥲 Does really 12th marks matter in Placement??? I already applied for Improvement exam but I'm burn out from study again those stuffs and I don't know whether I will increase my marks or decrease.....

How 12th marks affect in placement and become the drawback for me in placement?? Overall it only gives support in taking college but idk what to do??? 
Suggest me your opinion or Idea??

I'll be getting my degree next year, and the placements are starting from August. 
I've been working on a lot of projects lately that are based on web and feel confused whether I would be able to make it in placements. My parents have already poured in a lot of money for the tution and hostel fees. 
Fyi. I'm from a Tier 3 college and have no close relatives to guide me and I've only interned as a Research Intern last year. My GPA is around 7.

Would love to get some suggestions from folks who've been through this.

I am an engineering student from tier 1 clg, with very low cgpa. My chances of getting those high paying jobs is very low as I don't code and the only options left for me is analyst and pm. 
Please suggest me how should I prepare for off campus placements/ internship as I have no idea that how are they different from on campus placements

Off campus placements

I'm from the cursed batch , 2024 which is about to end within 2 months , after I'll be at home with no placements in hand , it's all my fault coz I didn't study, I have just 7.02 cgpa and college didn't even shortlist my name , so instead of having a year gap , should I do mtech from local college so that side by side I can grind req skills 
Like there are 2 sides of this 
First one , having a gap (let's say 6 months) and trying hard off campus to crack a company.
Second one , doing mtech from local college, and in that time period trying to get off campus, why off campus, it is obvious local college= no placement
Now gate preparation also req time , and this year gate exam has already been done . So waiting for the next gate exam will be no point .

Career advice

My question, as a college student, which is a better thing to do?
1. Keep learning new tech stack and build different projects.
Or
2. Try to contribute to some organization through open source  and learn through contribution itself (assuming i have some basic knowledge) + increase my network of connections (if possible). 

My primary goal right now is getting decent on campus placement as of now but i have plans to try oss contribution in future even if i am unable to do rn. My 2nd year will end in a few days btw.

Note that i can't do both simultaneously as my college is very hectic (tier 3) but it has some okayish placement.

Hi Folks, I am seeking advice as a father of a class 12 student, can you all recommend few engineering colleges besides the IIT, Bits, DTU, VIT which have good placement, infrastructure and faculty.

Would my past experience be an issue if I get into good colleges like IITs/IISc

By the time I graduate I would be around 33-34 maybe ?
Is it too late to get into GATE.
I also can't afford to go to foreign masters degree. 
I am single so only parents are dependent on me.

Hello everyone,I am 2021 CS graduate.I was preparing for GATE  exam for my mtech.But I couldn't perform well enough to get good college.I will probably get around 4000 rank this year.(I know this not good rank for general category and I won't get my desired college/course)I have very good conceptual understanding of CSE subjects like DS, algorithms, databases,and operating systems.But I haven't done any programming and any practical implementation of these.(I only have good btech project on my resume)I have decided to take upcoming TCS NQT to get my first job in IT field.

So my main questions are :-
1)what should be my further direction from here ?

2)Should I take job or give GATE another attempt (along with job)?

3)Also please suggest how can I land my first job  after gap of 1.5 years.?

Need help for deciding further path(CSE graduate with 1.5 years of gap due to competative exam)

I'm currently in 2nd year and going to 3rd year in upcoming 3 months. I'm from ECE department and have zero interest in that field. A lot of my friends and classmates are way ahead of me. I don't even have good grades. I don't know any skills, I'm just clueless about what i want to do in my life I'm too confused about it please help me out with some real solution. At this point I'm feeling like a complete looser

Help me regarding placements

Currently I am in my second year from a Tier 3 college. On campus placements at my college for the 2024 batch is really worse. Few companies are hiring for sales roles etc. and most of them are putting tough eligibility criteria and hiring only few.

To be very honest, I have no hopes from on campus placements. I am going for the off campus route.
What should I do to get a decent intern in third year/fourth year and a decent job by the time of graduation?

Talking about my progress, I am doing DSA, taking part in contests in Codechef, Codeforces, and Leetcode. 
Besides that I have started learning Machine Learning. Have done only the Math part and basics though still now. Been to 2 offline hackathons.

If someone has close to 3 years experience as a software developer after completing B.tech and wants to pursue M.tech, but for some reason he could not clear GATE exam and wants to join as a software developer after 1 year of preparation gap.

I want to know what will be the impact of this while searching for a job after one year of preparation gap?

My brother is graduated this year and wants to pursue Computer Science as a career option. He will focus on coding and will want a placement in IT industry. But according to his rank he is expecting to get metallurgy engineering in MNIT Jaipur. He is getting Electronics/ CSE in colleges like Jamia which rank much lower. 

While the college does matter, I want to know the placement opportunities in such NITs for a student from a different branch.

I love web development and have built a few full-stack projects too. Now I am confused about what I should do. Hi , can folks here guide steps /suggest how to get SDE role at entry role . I regret giving 2 yrs a career for the civil services exam. I graduated with BTech in  2021 . If I had only sat for college placements at my Tier 1 college, I wouldn't have been living with regrets. I have been doing projects in the MERN stack . I also have skills like Postgresql, Trpc and am familiar with using ORMs and type validators like Zod . Since I had no previous experience at internship or full time , no companies are shortlisting my profile .
