They have got pay per interview (count) schemes, consulting fees for resumes that mysteriously make the cut, and ..
let's not even get started on the under the table deals : apparently it is standard procedure (%'s fixed too)

Talent is paying up/ asked to
Hiring Partners/ Vendors are paying up/ asked to
Tools/ Product companies are paying up/ asked to
Offers being made left, right and centre

Feels like we're not recruiting anymore - we're auctioning it off to the highest bidder. Screw skills or fit - suddenly it's about who can cough up the most cash

A sleaze fest and circus at best where the highest bidder wins, and integrity is just a joke. Since when did we decide that ethics, merit, credibility and capability were expendable? 

And the only time this gets reported, when someone burnt decides to open up in a close door conversation cause he/she/they dont want to pick a fight with a potential CUSTOMER OR the rates didnt make sense. Everything else is shoved under the carpet.

and when you argue .. you have used our services/ product in the past - you know we can deliver - the rebuttal usually is.. yeah! but we got to start the process again from scratch - cause this org does this differently. 
Right! great answer. 

PS: Still wondering how bad can it get : a CTO's reco was stopped by people in the game. Now if a CTO/CEO cant step over this wire.. god knows who will.

2/ an employee has got a raise in his/her current org recently, gets an offer from another org and then asks for the current org to match the offer

What’s your first thought? Is this justified?
90% of orgs will label them as opportunistic, money hungry & capital centric.
But let’s get brutally honest here: Is the talent wrong to ask for more?
We’re quick to jump to conclusions and slap on those labels. But have you ever stopped to consider their perspective? They are leveraging their value in the market. They are pushing for what they believe they’re worth. 
Isn’t that exactly what we teach about knowing your value and not settling?
Are we really being fair when we default to calling them greedy? 

How many of you would really go back to hard, clear benchmarking and justify why this ask is justified?
How many of you are really fighting this battle of moving a godzilla out of their position (in this case, a manager) who just says, "Nai yaar... pagal hai kya... bolo same salary pe aane ke liye... abhi to raise mila hai"?
Most likely (as it is today) that this will result in a no-go from a manager or a comp approval request. And when it does - you can go all gaga on how you sold opportunity cost, how you justified the value the candidate brings to the table and all that verbatim in my head translates to CONVENIENCE. Someones convenience. This will always labelled "outlier" case.

I arranged employee referrals from Microsoft , Visa , Arcesium , Walmart but no response came not even rejection its almost 1 month.
Is there any other trend prevailing in market?
Or more precisely Am I approaching in the wrong way?

It’s pretty well known that Microsoft referrals are useless

Disclaimer: I respect both of them, svs & SG; dare I say I am a fan.

But being on the other side of recruiting with all the power and influence of the corporate hierarchy, they seem to be out of touch.

Current reality: Firms put candidates on hold for months. HRs hardly reply to follow-ups. Processes with assignments that is free Labour in disguise. Asymmetry in salary negotiation (Companies asking for salary slips without telling us their budget/range).

Candidates are already on uneven field. SG and svs suggesting us to play it with integrity is bordering on their hypocrisy. 

If you like a candidate and he has multiple offers, There's a reason he has multiple offers. Either Pay up or shut up!

Tech Influencers see stuck in their ivory towers

Imagine this: You have spent weeks evaluating candidates for that open role. You have put them through every test, multiple interviews - you have dissected their skills, their experiences, and you’ve finally made your decision. 
You are now making THE offer.

The candidate sits across from you - but instead of shaking your hand
he/she leans forward and says "Just so you know, I’m not an IIT grad. Never went there" Now what? This candidate just cleared all your rounds, solved every problem, nailed every behavioral question. What do you do now???

Do you throw them out for lying? 
Do you punish them for tricking the system into shortlisting the resume and offering them?
OR Do you pause for a second and ask yourself - did I just judge someones ability based on a checklist, or did I see their actual potential?

Sure your system, your filters, your standards - they all got tricked. They made a joke out of it. And it should hurt. But wasn't the process you trust so much supposed to catch the lie? If the guy is sitting in front of you, with the skills and problem-solving mindset - tested by you and your people - the same someone you were willing to make an offer a minute ago - the same someone you went gaga over a minute ago - minus the degree is still the same guy. Right?? 
Then did the degree really matter? 

Sure, his approach might be unconventional, but isn’t the whole point of hiring to get the best talent? If he could game your system and still outperform others within your interviewing standards and assessment playground rules - doesn’t that say something about him?
Would you honor his honesty at the last second? 
Or would you punish the trickery, even though you’ve just spent weeks proving he has what it takes?
Would you now question your hiring standards? 
Would you realize you might be filtering out great candidates because they don’t fit the “mold” you’ve built? 
Or do you still choose to stay stuck on the labels and shiny credentials?

Here’s the real question: Did your system just fail… or did it actually work?
What if the candidate rubbed it in your face and said - "And those companies on my resume? Never worked there either” Would that hurt your ego even more? your pride?

So many ... Trust me SOOOOO MANYYYYY others have you missed out on opportunities because they didn’t have the RIGHT school, the RIGHT companies on their resume? So if a candidate - does exactly this - Is he/she any wrong - to shake up your system?

Some of the boldest moves I know comes from a place of desperation.
They come from a place of nothing more to lose
So again - I got to ask - what would you do in this situation if you were hiring?

In a shocking turn of events, a former employee at MoEngage, while serving their notice period, reportedly downloaded over 1,000 files, including confidential pitch decks, proposals from active deals, and sensitive product documentation, onto their personal device. This individual allegedly shared the stolen data with a competitor they were preparing to join.

As a result, this competitor has started appearing in all of MoEngage’s deals, armed with insider information, and MoEngage is facing unprecedented losses against them. The IT team at MoEngage flagged this alarming activity, and the former employee is now facing legal prosecution.

How low can you stoop for a company?

Bro, why didn't you figure it out before I joined. They bumped off Sourcing, D2C sales head, Finance, Offline Sales head, etc as well. Apparently - they still have the HR head drawing the salary of probably more than 50L pa since they need to build 'culture' for a team size of less than 25 ppl now.

Facing this new trend, even after giving multiple rounds and performing great. No final feedback or offer received. Some other companies have not scheduled managerial rounds after clearing technical round. Happened with me in couple of companies.
On the other hand, Interviews are getting stricter if something not right in any of the interviews it is a straight reject. 
I think there are too many candidates and recruiter are not in hurry to fill position they are in wait and watch mode. It's like passive hiring that is happening recruiters/companies are open for great deals.

What is with Indian recruiters wanting to know your CTC as the very first step of hiring? And when asked to share the ctc range in which the role falls, they refuse to share.  So basically they just want to lowball candidates based on their current CTC and parity is a joke?
Now If a recruiter denies sharing the range for the role and insists on knowing my CTC, I run!  What are your thoughts?

As a recruiter, i have candidates asking me the payscale and i usually share them the compensation bands we have ...although in most cases we are told strictly not to tell the applicants ...however for me , i think it kinda makes my job much easier as they don't false expectations with the role or the salary ...neither i make them waste their time interviewing us ...saves a lot on both sides  
 My managers do expect me to have certain extra good profiles just to maintain our pipeline and show a good funnel of quality folks..but it does not work my way ...
