Salary in Data Science

Hey everyone, happy to answer any questions around Data Science/ML/AI and making a career within it A brief about me, I work currently as a Sr. ML Engineer at an Indian unicorn startup I graduated 5+ years ago and have since worked as a Data Scientist / ML Engineer at an ecommerce company and social media company. My designations have changed based on the industry requirements and work too changed based on that. Would love to take questions on what it means to be an ML Engineer, my early learnings from a career in data science, and thoughts on AI. Look forward to all questions :)

Do data engineers or big data engineers in India get a similar salary as SDE or data scientist or is it lesser or more than SDE/DS? What are your numbers and YOE as data engineer? Thanks in advance🙂

I have around 6 years of experience with data engineering and I'm good with medium level DSA. Every time recruiter ask me for a salary I'm not sure how much to ask. I have around 25 fix and 5 variable as of now. How much I can quote to recruiter as fixed based on my experience?

Hi folks, does anyone know the SDE salary range with 6 years of experience in software engineering? I am applying for jobs and need to put the expected salary. Current CTC: 44 LPA. All fixed. Esops: 20 LPA. YOE: 6 Current designation: SDE 3.

Hey guys, so I have been interning at a company for the past 9 months. They have offered me a ppo and I will most likely accept it. But my interest lies in the ML field or some data fields such as data engineering. Can anyone advice me how do I go about it? Like should go for masters(my undergrad degree is not CS or some pheonix branch). Should I learn on my own and keep giving interview. Or should I take some experience in sde and then switch? Good roles to transition in product from senior data scientist, without affecting pay/growth?

I compared many SDE vs data scientist/ engineer CTC which were public. I can see data roles are paid less . Is it true? Many consider data roles as less coding(tech) roles. Why?
