Im also on the same boat, based on current market don't leave the company , start looking out new company and ask your current employee give permanent WFH. And don't tell your next employee about pay cut. When you get the offer then they ask about pay slip. Told the situation. If they don't agree with your expectation. Simply copy past this dialogue : 
 "Your company criteria to select an employee based on salary slip or their experience and how they do well in interview. If payslip is your criteria then i don't think so the company good fit for me " 
 Trust me its work .

Thanks for sharing, I guess the companies have somewhat started realising these situations nowadays, but totally depends on their culture

1. a lot of companies are hiring through crewscale, etc. they are offering low salary as per the role. are companies paying low salary to them or they are taking a big cut? do people treat them differently once they join a company via crewscale?

2. I am not able to get my resume shortlist for mncs. 

what to do now? recently my friend got a call from razorpay gehy were offering for sde role 15 lakh for 2 years experienced. they were paying 22 lakh for sde 1 last year. the role is not product engg or solution ennggg that they recently introduced for low salary. it was sde role.

3 years post-MBA exp. Currently at INR 35+ LPA. Offer in impact consulting at INR 23 LPA. Should I take it? Joining in Jan'24. Reason for switch - can't tolerate my toxic manager anymore. Have already put down my papers. 
Line of thought:
1. Take it - Something is better than nothing. At least paisa aate rahega.
2. Wait - Once I go at a lower package, difficult to demand a hike on my current one.
3. Take it, don't mention it - Companies will negotiate hard to lowball me if they know I am not working (gets worse if the LWD of my current company and the time am applying have a huge gap).

Money matters to me. But have been introspecting a lot. Will appreciate realistic input from the community.

The company I used to work for recently shut down and I just received my first offer from a sizeable unicorn. 

I am being massively low-balled (20% cut). And on top of it, it's an exploding offer. 

I have a couple of interviews lined up (they start after May 28th) but at the moment, this is the only offer I have. 

What should I do?

1. Hard negotiate? Leave the offer on the table if it doesn't work out. 

2. Soft negotiate. Get the offer. Interview with other companies and try to get a better offer before joining (feels wrong)

Things to consider:

- I have 10+ months runway
- Last cash comp was 24L at 2.5YOE

Suffering from success. 24L base for <2.5 yoe was already high. And that’s the reason why u have so much runway. Good luck on whatever u decide.

How to transition from frontend to backend development?

I got three job offers for SDE2. I accepted the offer (30LPA) with the lowest pay but loved the interview process, loved how they didn't waste my time (offer rolled in 2 weeks). Even their Google reviews and Glassdoor has 5 stars. Early stage startup, but they have a tech product with a very bright future (seed funded). And culture is amazing, founders are bright.

Second offer was from a mid-sized fintech startup (series C funded). Offer was for 34 lakhs. The interview process was okay but that set me off was that they wanted to conduct another design round after my final Hiring Manager interview as their team categorised my interview as "Weak Hire". They even told me that to my face. 😂 I cleared the subsequent design round but the whole process was lengthy (1 month).

Third offer is from an AI company with horrible glassdoor reviews. They took 2 months of time to finish the entire interview process. Even the product doesn't seem like it will survive in next 4-5 years. Offer from them is 42 LPA.

I got laid off a couple of months ago, so instead of higher pay I went to the company where I could learn more, get good peers, and increase my skillset. I hope that this decision makes sense. I tried to negotiate with Company A but they were unwilling to go beyond 30, I did mention I have other offers which are higher. 

I didn't include the joining bonus and ESOP components in all companies, but they are there.

Please help me decide if I made the right choice

Yesterday I was going through the company's job site, and the difference between the starting salary and my salary is about 11L

Dead inside would be an understatement

Pay was 18L + 2L variable + ESOP
After months of search I landed an offer at another smaller startup which raised Series B in sept-22
They are offering me 16+2 + ESOP after looking at my payslip and I have no other offer in hand citing economic conditions.
How do I go about it? I have 1 other interview going on and few with final round results pending, but uncertain if those will get offered.

YOE - 4.5 Years

Most of the companies I interviewed for were not able to match my current fixed because of which I took this offer. Now I feel like my Base is low as compared to the market average in terms of YOE which makes me worry about my career’s progression. Do you also feel the same? 

But at the same time I am grateful that in this job market, I have got a job. What do you think? Am I rationally thinking here? I live with my parents and they are partially dependent on me. I hope I have made a correct decision.

The next lower level options top band was 40 percent less than my current pay

I took the demotion given the market and personal circumstances.

 If I search for opportunities outside I would have to ask for 60 percent hike
