Is it okay to workout when you slept only for 3 hours in the night? What kind of exercises are okay to do?
Not at all, you'll damage your blood vessels by forcing an elevated heart rate with high blood pressure

Don't risk it, already you are sacrificng sleep. Everything will seem fine for a few years if you are relatively healthy now. It will come back to haunt you after a few years and the repercussions are simply not worth it.
Focus on getting a better sleep routine first, and then start with exercises.

Thanks, got this. I try to get enough sleep but if there are 1-2 days when you are low on sleep, do you still work out?
It all depends on you. Listen to your body.
If you're up to it, go for it. There are people doing physical labour most of the day without rest.
But, if you're not up to it, then don't force it. Take some rest.

If the reason for sleeping 3 hours is because you are not able to, then you are probably having serious sleep problems and not working out really hard. Working out hard drains energy out of you, I am sometimes sleepy even after sleeping for 10 hrs after working out.
If you really want to build good amount of muscle, don't compromise on sleep.

The comments in this post show that the only resistance training they've done is pushing keys on the keyboard.
As someone who actually works out, yes you can.
But don't push hard, reduce # of sets/weights. Or if you push, you'll get sleepy soon after or sleep extra like 9 hrs the same night. By push I mean training heavy / to failure.

If it's a one off incident, separate story
But if you intend to do this regularly, you'd be fatigued very soon. Never force yourself this way..the body needs ample rest to recover. Heavy weight training exercises burn calories till 24 hrs post workout. (Multiple certified trainers have told me so)
And dont ever underestimate the importance of a sound 6-8 hr sleep at night, at reasonable sleep time (not 3am)
Working out when underslept can lead to injuries as well (have seen friends suffer due to this)

There are odd days when you are out with friends and low on sleep. The next day do you still work out or not? Not advocating less sleep as a regular feature - workout or not.

I never work out with 4-5 hr sleep. If possible, I shift the workout to evening, or compensate on another day..but I try to maintain a 5-6 days per week average
People tend to ignore food and sleeping habits and run behind building body to enhance their physical appearance. You will bound to face problems if you ignore food and sleeping habits
Listen to your body. You’ll get your answer. Don’t have to quantify everything. If you’re feeling fine and energetic, go for it. Ensure you stretch well and have enough recovery time afterwards.

Ek din mai kyun fit banna h bhai tujhe?? Go and get some sleep dude. And if you workout having such less sleep, you’re gonna have severe muscle loss and a blackout. So good luck if you still want to go ahead with it
