Happened with me in March when it was my last working month, I was asked to resign or work in PIP. I got a job next month but it took another month to get an offer. I had maintained emergency fund of 1 lac which was life savior (although it has to be of 6 month salary fund). I am happy that they put me in that condition and I was offered a satisfactory package.

I had bills to pay and a lifestyle I was accustomed to. I navigated the uncertainty by cutting expenses, leaning on my support network, and investing time in building new skills. Ended up being such a blessing in disguise for me.

Laid off, what next?

My contract was terminated last month citing restructuring.
Honestly, I saw it coming but wasn't expecting it would hit like this

I tried keeping my mind distracted, but now it has started to sink

I live with parents and they aren't saying anything (they were feeding me before and still are, no change for them)

I have had thoughts of ending all this, but do not have the courage. What if it ends halfway and I am redundant my whole life?

Credit card bills are coming through now and being 42% of my ex-salary wasn't something I was prepared for. I thought I was a sane spender.

How did you tackle being laid off?

Keep looking around, apply and eventually you're bound to get a good job I promise you. Just treat it as a numbers game. Ask your parents help with the credit card bills if you don't have enough corpus, there is no shame in that. You can give the money back to them when you're in a better position. 
  
 You're a nice person from what I know of you in this platform, you got this sis! Ending it all is not a good option for the people who care about you, and you're probably gonna look back later and smile and be glad for making it through

To all the people who have been laid off recently, don’t get disheartened. I have been laid off thrice and every time, I got a better offer and higher salary.  If you have given your 100% and still end up getting laid off the fault is not on you. I now have started believing it happens for a greater good. 

Things to remember is always have a emergency fund, minimum 6 months of survival money, whichever city you are working/living on. This includes everything car emi if any, home loan emi if any, children education expenses if any, sum total of each and every expenses that you incur per month. 

This will give you financial cushion, you will not join the first company which rolls out an offer, you will have the leverage. 

If you have skills you will always find the next opportunity.

Note: If you fall in the category of ppl who were working in deeply funded companies with exorbitantly insane salaries defying gravity, accept the reality of the market correction settle for less and cut down on lifestyle inflation. 

4-5 years experience getting 80-90L in fixed was anyways not sustainable, it would have corrected sooner or later

So in my small start-up company people are dropped for poor performance without any warning. It almost comes as a total surprise! And many times the poor performance is because of factors outside the control of the concerned person.

So this week I found out that I was almost going to be fired. Our company wanted to follow the current trend and do some layoffs. It seems I was on that bottom 10% list. Luckily we got some new business last month and they have delayed any layoff plans for a few months now.

A lot. 
 Sister suffers severe psychological ssues. 
 Has been known since 4 years. Can't leave her alone. Trying to get her up on her feet has been a challenge since such people are not that socially acceptable. 
 We've had to juggle cities just so that someone is there to tend to her.  
 It drains the life out of your life. 
 Such things definitely affect professional life as you can't give 100% to your work when your mentally stuck at your home.

I recently changed my job, 3-4 months back.
It was a hard time finding a good job profile with good offer, after almost a year of searching amd giving interviews i found my current job. Luckily, my interviews were very good and i was offered more than what i had asked.
After joining team, i realized that they are looking to prepare for some regulatory changes and my role was pivotal in that. I kind of got to work and contribute on my own and my manager and his boss liked me. I was getting set but then last week, company announced some changes in top leadership and my manager's boss got a new boss. Now this guy seems little tricky and i don't know what all changes he would bring. As of now he seems to be sure of expanding the team/work that i do (related to regulatory stuff).

Now, these changes has got me a bit nervous. And i am kind a bit afraid about my job and its future. This is causing me stress. Any ideas or thoughts that can help me navigate.

How to handle changes, stress and fear of getting fired

During my B.Tech, I balanced my studies with active participation in clubs and committees, and also engaged in sports and exploration. Aspiring for a non-core placement, I didn't participate in hackathons or apply for internships. After graduation, I pursued various paths, including preparing for the CAT exam with only three months of preparation time, but I didn't succeed. I then applied to several companies for data analytics roles but kept making new mistakes in each attempt. In one instance, I was rejected for oversharing my passion for data science in a final interview.

To improve my chances, I optimized my resume and completed significant projects, but these efforts haven't yet yielded the desired results. Realizing the challenges of relying on a single target, I also started preparing for the GATE exam. Reflecting on my journey, I recognize that I should have applied for on-campus opportunities, as off-campus job hunting is challenging and unpredictable, regardless of one's preparation.
