Want to leave Product Management
Want to explore different career opportunities as being a PM survival is very tough if you are not from IIT/IIM. Please suggest!! I am a computer sc graduate.
Why do you say it’s tough for non IIT/IIM folks? At least you’re an engineer by qualification - I’m from a fully non tech background.

Are you a PM?

Yes pming is tough. But why would you want to leave it? With tech stack changing every few years, it gets difficult to upgrade continuously

With your attitude I’m sorry but you should quit. I’m a non IIT/IIM product manager and doing just fine in my career. If you let credentials bring you down and blame things like that, you might as well switch.
What! Bits folks are everywhere 🥲, what’s the exact problem you’re facing with the pm role?
mazaak tha bhai, i like it. the problems i face are all general problems any starter would face
Start seeing past labels. Your impact matters more later on. Not where you went to college. Maybe that may open more doors than others. But that's just it. Post the door opening, it's up to you.

I am hoping you are taking this decision after thinking a lot about it. Strategy/Consulting could be a good choice as you already know the problem statements and you have all the data. Also, you work in different industries and not tied to one. But here it comes with its own set of problems (waste a lot of time in polishing a deck, client interaction with sales kind of role, etc.)
