Depression is one of the worst health condition to happen to any individual. My heart goes out to the people going through it. We can never imagine what the depressed person might be going through. The least we can do is empathise and help in whichever way we can without any judgement in the first place.

If you die right now, how would you feel about your life?

I know the question sounds weird, but hear me out. 
Have seen a couple of deaths in the extended family where my 2 cousins between 27-30 age have passed away and now seeing their parents/spouses/babies suffer. 
I want to be a bit prepared in case I suddenly happen to depart this world in the same way. I know that there's no way I can prepare for the emotional turmoil that my family will go through but at least I can try to reduce some hassle and provide some financial help. 

I have a term insurance of 1.75 Cr. 
And I just realised that though I have it, nobody knows the details like policy number etc. So, I'm preparing a document with those details.

What else do you think we should be prepared for?

I am strong YOLO believer, eat good food, be happy, in the moment
Why worry losing weight

The worse that can happen is death, and I'm okay dying tomorrow

Or so I thought.
I have seen people who are okay dying, live for very very very long time. Have multiple illnesses and are unable to live to fullest even though tenure is longer than others.

This really jolted me into considering fitness. Death can still happen tomorrow, but if I have to live long I don't want to be dependent on others

For the longest time I believed death was easy to come

There are survivors who were sent to concentration camps but came out alive. How was that possible?

There's was another Dutch lady in the news who decided to end her life in a similar manner in Jan'24. She was also 28.
There's a famous YouTuber called Physics Girl who's suffering from Long covid for a year now. 

I don't know what's the appropriate response here. Has anyone witnessed people with Long covid symptoms? Does it warrant taking your life at such a young age?

In our death beds it's not the bank balance that would give us joy but the core memories that we made makes us feel we lived a great life. At the end that's important 
  
 If you are compensating for your choice of not having kids through other core memories like traveling or other experiences then go for it. Optimising not having kids only for saving money is a dangerous thing. As I get older I realise that joy comes from giving and not from accumulation.

what is your worst mistake professionally?

If we are spiralling, let's spiral right

1. Focused solely on grades in colleges
2. Thought Campus placements were ultimate goal
3. Spent 3 years in a company with 5% increment (once), because it was comfortable
4. Scared to ask even minimum budget while negotiating salary
5. Overthinking every step, still not taking actions to correct or fuck up anything
6. Major major regret - not taking risk of starting own. It also has to do with parenting, but lets not blame.
7. Ran away from public sharing - speaking, athletics, all extracurricular activities for that matter. Kids grow up with zero confidence and looking fat & ugly. (I'm not fat shaming, some fat people look 🤌)

I'll add more, there will be more for sure 😂

I currently work in a project that is driven by CEO and he is very intimidating. I work my ass off to make sure he gets what expects but today he was especially aggressive during the call. After the call I asked him to wait up for two mins and started telling him that I am getting intimidated by him. Although he was nice to me when I confronted him, now I am feeling embarrassed because I broke down a little when I spoke. Tears started flowing and I am feeling like a weak person. Just fyi I am an adult male.

I ended up breaking down in front of my CEO

It's ok to express your emotions.  Especially in times of stress / duress.  
  
 You'll be fine.  
  
 It's also important to sometimes define boundaries - if that was the intent of your talk with him today.  It's feedback and if he is an understanding leader, he'll give you your space and time.

I want to know from the members of gravevine, what are their views on being a DINK couple or a DINKWAD( double income no kids with a dog). From financial prospects like having a huge disposable income to emotional aspects like not having a legacy or going against custom Indian tradition. Do share your thoughts 🤔💭

What are your thoughts about being DINKS?

We are a DINK couple (live-in, will get married soon) and absolutely no plans to have kids. Maybe be a DINKWAD someday by adopting an indie. Also no plans to buy a home or spend on our marriage. This is not a financial decision (both of us are doing decently well in our careers) but we don't want to have a child knowing how nothing around is improving and we don't want to sacrifice the best years of our lives by doing this. We are building a large corpus to be financially independent and travel without any financial restrictions.
