Save the assignment as part of your portfolio. Don't let it go to waste. Some other company will ask for your work samples and you can share this with them saying it's a freelance work.

Publish all assignments publicly and tag the companies for which you made them. Don't need to mention it was for interview. Try to check occasionally if they end up using any of it. Give them hell if they do.

After completing the initial round, I was given only 48 hours to finish a substantial portion of the assignment, which was nearly half of the app. Despite this, I managed to complete it outside of office hours during the week. 

A week after submitting the assignment, I reached out to inquire about the status, and the HR informed me that the team didn't find the assignment up to their expectations. 

When I checked the list of shared profiles within Figma file, I noticed that only my profile was listed. Upon asking the HR about this discrepancy, she mentioned that the team checked the assignment through figma file and they had forwarded my profile to another team (POD) for consideration. 

There is one more company that shortlisted my assignment and then asked for my expectation and eventually ghosted. 

This situation feels frustrating and unfair.

Last month I interviewed with NoBroker for a Demand Servicing Head position. The process went like this:

2 rounds of screening with HR/TA - was okay, good conversations. After which they scheduled an interview with the Business Head for the particular team. This interview went well too. 

After this they sent me an assignment - the longest assignment I've ever worked on as a part of the recruitment process. It asked me to write multiple detailed SOPs for the sales team, build a demand forecast model, and a complete demand generation plan for an oddly specific scenario. They gave me 5 days for it. 

I worked my a** off, desperate to get the job as I've been unemployed for some time. I did the assignment close to perfection - spoke to so many industry folks in real estate and made realistic assumptions, covering all possibilities. 

All in all I've not been so confident about my work ever like I was in this case. I submit and they acknowledge. 

Few days go by, I follow up, only to be given generic delay reasons by HR. Eventually, after more than a week they rejected me. When I requested for feedback on the assignment they completely ghosted me. 

I don't know why I'm sharing this here, but it's been hard. I've been jobless for > 5 months and every such experience completely shatters my already low self esteem further.

I recently applied to Indian Fintech, first round went well. Got no response from HR for 3-4 days. Once I called her on 5th day, she told me that I had cleared first round and they will assignment next day. Assignment didn’t arrive for 2 more days. HR stopped picking my calls. After this I reached out to third party recruiter (who started the process initially). She contacted this company HR and they sent me assignment next day. 

I had to complete it in 48 hour strict timeline. Spent entire 2 days on it and barely slept. I submitted it on time. 

After this no reply from HR for 4 days. Finally I reached out to my interviewer from first round for help. He said he will remind HR. 

Next day I got call from HR that all open positions are closed and we will consider u in future. No feedback on assignment was given. Not even sorry for making u wait. 

Isn’t the only thing HRs need to be good at is people handling & professional communication?

I am interviewing for Adani Realty and I cannot understand how they are operating. 
They took 2 rounds, in the 2nd round changed the profile for me, didn’t share much details about the 2nd profile, gave me an assignment more in line with the 2nd profile and now aren’t confirming the 3rd at all.
They said they liked my assignment and when I asked if the first profile was still open, they have just gone SILENT on me. 
I don’t know what to do, I’m looking for a job and it’s been such an exhausting process. :(

After trying for 2 months, and applying to over 30+ internships, I've failed to land a single internship which is paid. Last week two recruiters  shortlisted me and both of them gave me a task - 

1. To design a music festival website with specific requirements 
2. To design a edtech platform which incorporates gamification

The deadline was 24-36 hrs for both of them. I did the first task, submitted on time. Received no reply. I was left with no motivation to do the 2nd task, as it was even bigger than the 1st task. 

I urge PMs, Product Designers and everyone really to take a look at my portfolio and Behance and let me know where am I lacking. Am I really than incompetent in this space?

Tl;dr: My 3rd year B.Tech is going to start from this month and I failed to get an internship during summers. Feeling very incompetent.

Failing to get a UI/UX internship

Around a month ago, HR called to ask if I was interested in the APM role. After following up multiple times for the interview, they said the hiring manager didn't like your profile. After 2-3 weeks, different HR reached out, saying they want to conduct round - 1 for the same team. The interview happened, and I reached out to HR after 3-4 days for the next steps, but she kept cutting my calls and completely ghosted me. I reached out to another HR, and she said the feedback on the portal was that "experience is not enough."

I was pretty disappointed as while conducting interviews, HRs reached out to me so many times, but they couldn't even send an automated email for feedback. 

But it didn't end there. The HR who ghosted me called again after a couple of weeks to schedule round 1 with another team. The interview went well, and the interviewer asked me about my availability for round 2 and when I could join them, etc., saying we would try to conduct the next round soon. When I reached out for feedback, HR kept saying I'll call you later. I'm busy right now, and then they ghosted me. After following up multiple times, she said the feedback wasn't positive. 

I hoped for round 2 here since the interviewer seemed convinced and contented with my profile. Now, just because I reached out 10s of times, they told me that I have been rejected! 

How much time does it take to send an automated email? :/

Hey All,

I’m going to have meeting with HR regarding  PIP next week. There I need to take decision whether I have to resign and take 4 months pay or whether I have to go with PIP plan and perform certain tasks for 2 months what they will decide and evaluate.
I’m a bit confused what option should I need to opt.
I’m looking for jobs but didn’t receive any calls till now but I’m actively applying.

From many people I’ve heard that in PIP they are giving hard to achieve tasks and pressurising to resign else if got fail in PIP, they will terminate and will give termination letter instead of relieving letter.
What option should I opt , considering all the possibilities and current market situation?

P.S - I have 2 YOE in front end development 

Suggestions from experience would be highly appreciated and can help me.

For a marketing role where i had an assisnmrnt with a lot of deliverables to complete in 2 days. On asking for feedback the recruiter told me “the person who screened assignments didn’t like your work much”. I feel absolutely garbage and am looking to feel better. Can someone tell me I just escaped a bad company or something.

Wanted an opinion on how do you all tackle the assignment bit when it comes to assignments as part of hiring processes. One, how regular or normal is it at senior positions ? And two, I feel that a lot of times they just ask you to do everything that is expected of the job. Eg: Create a marketing strategy after analyzing landscape and top 3 competitors. Add graphs etc.
I always have a concern of getting most out of you. Since its at round 1 they would be getting multiple such assignments, which means by design lpt of this work will be a waste and lots of inputs freely sourced.
How do you all handle it ? Can you push back ?
P.S: Am from business/ marketing aide of things and not sure of how it works for techies/ product.

Received a call from the HR, I tell him I don’t have enough B2B design exp. he still shares my profile with hiring manager. Hiring manager likes the profile and I receive an assignment. Asked to submit the assignment in 2 days. I submit the assignment. Hiring manager wants have an assignment review call. 
During the 1 hour assessment call I answer all of his questions. 
Next day, HR calls me and tells me you answers all the questions. You have good design skills. We are rejecting you because you don’t have enough B2B design experience.
WHY THE F Did you shortlist me and had me waste my time on an assignment in the first place. What’s the point of an assignment then?????
