Why aren't women the higher gender?
Wait hear me out. Women have the ability to carry children, she needs men to initiate the process. Technically she should have more power. She could use and throw (not in that sense) men based on what she liked/ wants But we only have f*ckboys who do that Who made this difference come into play and why
Assuming the space of modern dating/relationships (not overall power spheres), my observations-
Women do have power when it comes to dating/casual flings. Demand supply is skewed towards men wanting this a lot more (read a quote somewhere that the number of days a man goes without sex is directly proportional to the things he becomes willing to do for a woman). This is why you see so many friend-zoned dudes.
When it comes to marriage/serious relationships, men have power again because of demand supply. (Men are in no hurry and do not really have a biological clock).
Also men tend to mature much later emotionally (some never do). Hence the preference for short term relationships/flings. Biologically as well- women become more attracted after mating, men tend to become less attracted once the heat is off 🫨
The modern tech stack is only compounding the issue since men who know they are attractive can easily find a willing and large pool of single females on dating apps. And men, being dumb and shallow, have the faithfulness inversely proportional to their options
Reality is - Women are the higher gender. Always have been.
- Earlier - sitting out entire bloody wars
- Getting preference during evacuations and stuff
And the scenario you mention - women do it way more than men these days. You'll find plenty of single men, but try finding a single decent looking female.

I am a single decent looking (I guess) female. And I am not using and throwing men.
Here, you have an exception to your theory. so it is doesn’t fit everyone
Did I mention that every women is doing f*boi thing these days? Did I mention that every decent looking female is single?
No and no.
Ofcourse there will always be exceptions to every single theory. But we look at general trend - not anecdotal evidence. And for that - look up the dating app statistics and match rate by gender.

Monotheistic religions are the primary cause for moulding that social behaviour. By definition there was only one God - Him. Her was always secondary. Relatively mild distinction in the earlier religious texts but gets acute with progressive iterations of the same concept.
Polytheists (aka early Pagans) don't have the same challenges and you can see equality, if not women centric and women driven societies all throughout the world.

Yea religion could also be a factor. But do you say Hinduism are polytheists? They worship men and women gods. Though things are more or less same
Don't want to name names :) It's a sensitive part of peoples identity and mental makeup.
Polytheists are polytheists and you know who they are, but now the global cultural and moral override is driven by whats originated in the west.

I always feel that women are like Carol Denvers in Captain Marvel, always suppressed in such a way that they themselves doesn't know about their full potential.
I have no answer to why this situation is prevailing or why it is happening. But what I think could have happened is that, they were having equal, if not more, prominence earlier and were expected to focus on self during certain circumstances (maybe child birth, periods, etc). Over time, this became tied on to religion/caste to instill fear, and enable them to do it. This further got worse from there leading to almost everything being male dominated (and they would try to have it that way everywhere). And it continues in the form of suppression/oppression, which continues to evolve.
I couldn't think of any other logical explanation as well - although this entire thing still lacks logic. I know a lot of people who believe that women are for sexually satisfying men, and for reproduction. I feel very bad for what's happening.
Fortunately, I understand that Men and women are equal (don't take it out of context). But I believe that women can get more done if they're determined. Let's hope that situation changes soon.

Completely agree, the shift is happening slowly and steadily. The society will heal if nothing more
Itna galat kaise soch liya.
Women have a higher body count then men on average so technically they are using and throwing guys around.
And the power thing, well that evolved due to the hunter/gatherer dynamic of our ancestors
And about Society in general, although we still live in a patriarchal society but women do hold significant soft power which gets overlooked because a small percentage of moronic dudes are too loud

Higher body count? Let's not dull the average with world, for India it definitely isn't the case
India is a weird case. In some regions and sections it will still be true. Rest of the country is well due to suppression.
But given an equal playing field you can argue that it will always be favoured for women.

My theory is basically females is actually a higher gender in almost every species right from puny mantis to matriarchal elephants. The deviation in this pattern is actually our monkey family where the males are more aggressive. Given this, humans divided themselves into females as caretakers and males as hunters due to their "aggressiveness". This process converted males to the roles of Defender and Sourcer. Eventually came agriculture where the defender role was required but the Sourcer role remained. This gave males the opportunity to be leaders of the outside realm while females were in charge of indoors. Add a couple more centuries and meb are now the decision makers of the society and have a lot more power over women...
Tldr: Blame your monkey ancestors

There is no "higher" gender!
Gender roles got decided based on how society was structured, both genders have and exercise greater power within those roles. As society is changing, so are the roles. It is transitionary conflict where women feel they are less powerful as they are new to corporate, political, public circles. Guys feel the same way when they land up in women-dominated circles.

My question was that itself - why structured that way?
How many women-dominated circles are there than men-dominated? and why are the women ones lesser

Something to do with child bearing responsibilities for women. It sounds unfair, but thats how majority of humans got wired.
Who made the difference? Our ancestors when survival needed more brawn. Lets see how the civilization proceeds but it only looks downhill. Someday babies will primarily come out of machine or pods only, in which case only men are needed 🤷🏻♂️

What are men fertilizing in the machine? Or did they start producing eggs too
This thread doesn't pass the Bechdel test going by the comments. If there is any opinion by a woman let everybody know.

I learnt something new today!
If you see the stereotypical gender roles, men were responsible for bringing in money, women for nurturing the family and world runs on money. In addition, men in general have more physical power. Women could give birth and bring in new life.
And no matter what you do about it, I feel these two points and again enforce these points saying God wanted this, made a lot of difference... it did have a big impact on the way society was structured. when men had two out of the three things and books like manusmriti, it just made them feel more powerful.
For eg:In olden times a man felt threatened, he would cut his wife's supply of money, kill her or marry a new woman. Or if the daughter tried to go against the parents' wishes, force was used to keep her from doing what she wanted.. After centuries of suppression this was instilled within the genders saying one is weak and other is strong.
However, now, with women also working and educated, and a lot of men understanding and questioning things, I feel the balance is slowly(very very slowly) getting restored and we move towards a world where we live together in harmony. ❤

You are talking about gender roles in last 1000-2000 years. The damage was done before that. I think it started when agriculture was discovered and families came up
Could be even before that.. Chimps and monkeys are also male dominant.. So it could have passed on from our oldie ancestors
Women usually don't go out and court men. In a sexual relationship, women hold the key to sex and all consensual sex only happens once the woman has agreed to it. Given this imbalanced dynamic, as a society we don't really celebrate women who have had too many partners and that's not an accomplishment that adds positive value to their character. This is why we don't have the equivalent concept of a f*ckgal being commonly accepted.

Consent is tier 1 concept. I have realised there's more to countries than just the metro cities
The logical implication of what you're suggesting is that non-metro city people are r*pists? Are you sure about that?
