 - Told me I am not getting hike, despite revenue increase. 
 - Took out one team that was reposting to me. Because of this less bonus thus less salary than last year. 
 - Asked one guy who was reporting to me and asked him to lead that team and take only advice from me. 
 - Made me individual contributor from leading a team of 8. 
  
 This behaviour despite contributing hugely taking company from 10 to 80 cr. of revenue. I couldn’t take this shit and left the job within a month.

Tirelessly worked to start a division in the org from zero, with me being the first person and also the only lead. Too much of non-SWE work, no clarity on new features by product team but post dev, they used to rebound saying this is not what we wanted. At this point, all the management used to sit quiet, but not major change in gonlive date. I used to work in that situation for such a long long time. B**sh*t.

I am thinking of leaving my current job and focus on myself, getting to know myself better etc. Currently I have enough money saved for my expenses for next 6-8 months. 
   Everyone I have asked about this say don't leave your job if you don't have another lined up, in this tech winter. I understand their view point. It aligns with what my parents think as well.

Is there anyone who has had done this in the past? Do you recommend this route? Are the consequences far too severe? Does anyone have a different opinion from one stated above?

I'm in the same boat, on the verge of quitting, and will most probably take the leap next month.

4yoe Engineer turned Product Manager. It's been 8 months I joined this B2B SaaS startup as an APM. Engineering team... mostly interns. Most of my time goes into execution following up with devs. Is the PR reviewed, is the bug fix deployed. No Jira, scrum, sprint planning whatsoever.

CEO runs the whole show. Only fear driven product management. I have no idea what it means to work on vision or strategy. My career has started off with a shitty foundation. Everyday I feel like quitting. What should I do? Quit right away or wait n switch to a better company?

I am currently serving my notice period (90 days). Had decided earlier to quit and then look for a role so that I can job hunt in relative peace without worrying about job performance (high impact and demanding role). Was interviewing with a bunch of startup’s and almost every hiring manager and HR asked about why are you quitting without an offer? Same people when I was interviewing while working were concerned about the 90 day notice. 

Is this considered as a concerning behaviour? Or just a negotiation tactic. 

Also, what is a correct response to this question in your opinion? The truth seems incredulous to these folks.

I am applying to various companies but after the initial screening they are ghosting me(I guess mainly because of np). Should I quit and apply. I am worried, what if I am not able to get jobs after 90 days. I have more than 2 years of experience. I don't have any financial dependency.
In my current organisation for the past few months, I don't have enough work to do, that's why I'm looking for the switch.

I started working as a junior product manager last year. Unfortunately within a few months the company ran out of funds and I quit before they shut operations / laid people off as I could sense it was going to happen. I joined another startup and it's been about 6-7 months but in the hunt for revenue and profitability my product isn't important for the company. Not enough developers/ senior PMs/ designers/ is assigned to the product and it is consumed elsewhere even though the overall performance of the product, metrics, have improved. It's hard to work as a junior PM without guidance.

I am in 2 minds now if I quit how will other employers perceive it? Will it seem like a frequent switch? And any suggestions for switching or applying anywhere where product guidance is good, not looking for a hike/ but a good company, good product, same pay scale and good guidance.

3 years post-MBA exp. Currently at INR 35+ LPA. Offer in impact consulting at INR 23 LPA. Should I take it? Joining in Jan'24. Reason for switch - can't tolerate my toxic manager anymore. Have already put down my papers. 
Line of thought:
1. Take it - Something is better than nothing. At least paisa aate rahega.
2. Wait - Once I go at a lower package, difficult to demand a hike on my current one.
3. Take it, don't mention it - Companies will negotiate hard to lowball me if they know I am not working (gets worse if the LWD of my current company and the time am applying have a huge gap).

Money matters to me. But have been introspecting a lot. Will appreciate realistic input from the community.

Goin through a mid-career crisis atm.
Overall exp 18 yrs in a mnc bank drawing close to 60 laks CTC. But the growth is stymied and don’t hv visibility of what’s the Development path and how can I get there. Mulling to take a break and prioritise but have some leverage to manage and kids savings.

Wife is working atm but draws significantly lower than me so will have lifestyle challenges if I quit.

So I just started this new role as a Frontend dev in a startup. But during these past weeks, I've gotten a much, much better offer from a bigger, mid-sized company. It's fully remote, and no way I'm letting this opportunity go.

How should I approach quitting after just joining? I've met most of the teams and the Director himself took an interest in me, giving me my own project. Do I have to serve the notice? It's mentioned in my offer letter - 3 weeks notice during probation.

I am a PM at an edtech startup. The company is not doing well and my boss is not a good leader. Although company has a runway of 2 years. For the past 3 months I have been doing program management. No product management related work at all. No one appreciates you here. It's mentally challenging to work here. No road map for myself. No appraisal. I'm just going on the job for salary. For the past week, I have been thinking about quitting and taking a break. Then look for a job. I know the market is tough but I have runway for 4-5 months. I come from a good college (tier 2) with very good placements but because of mental health reasons ( I was severely struggling) i had to skip placements. After being unemployed for 4 months after graduation my family forced me into taking a job I never wanted. Very low pay, extremely toxic work culture and insane work hours. I don't even have energy or time left to prepare for interviews or even apply to other jobs. This job is slowly pushing me back into depression. And it even hurts to see that all my friends are earning 17+LPA base + stocks and other benefits, while I can't even get a 15CTC job. I feel my career is over and see no hopes for my future. Should I quit so I can atleast prepare for a better job? Any advice is appreciated.

Hi All,

I Joined this Irish-American tech consulting company  in 2021 with a 130% hike & 3.8 YOE. 
I learnt a lot of new things and made some really good connections within 1.5 years.Now the work has been saturated to a point where I no longer write code , but only review it while approving the prs of juniors. Also I don't like the way the people at the client side run the project. 
Even if I ask for a change in a project I know for a fact that either it will take at least 6 months or the other project will be mostly like be support work.  
Please help me come up with a polite reason that's not about higher education or salary. 
I have an offer from Deloitte and TCS currently with a 50 % hike.
