Shall I be honest and answer - The product launch at my current company is being pushed forward by a couple of quarters, as a result I'm looking for a new place, and what could be more exciting than joining a YC-backed startup and making an impact?

Or I should write fluff - And don’t mention about my reason of leaving last company?

I’m applying for a role and they have asked me why us?

I am in my second year of MBA at one of the IIM LKI. Due to the bad economy my campus placements have taken a hit similar to ISB and IIM B. The worst part is I am not understanding where I am going wrong. As per my understanding I gave an exceptional interview to one of top Indian IT services but I still wasn't hired in spite of having an IT background with 3 years work ex in IT services 

Tech interviews were easy. You either know the answer or you don't 

I asked one of my seniors. He said they mostly look for culture fit!!!

So basically I don't hesitate in challenging the interviewer if I feel like they don't know how to interview a senior candidate

so during many interviews, this is how I have caught them off guard:

1. The interviewer was asking me technical questions and expecting to explain properly throughout. So at the end i asked him about the tech stack they use, he said Azure. I asked him why they use Azure and not AWS, to which he said "it's cheaper", i didn't let it go, i asked him for a proper technical explanation, his red face was worth seeing.

2. The interview asked me a hard DSA question, and I wasn't able to solve it properly, he didn't even give me enough hints, just expected me to solve it. So halfway I asked him, would you like to solve a DSA if I ask you right now, he said no because it's not his interview. To which I asked, are you afraid that you won't be able to solve? If you are going to reject me for not solving this question, would you resign if you aren't able to solve the question. He ended the call.

3. One interviewer was asking me absurd technical detailed questions. I asked him why are you asking such questions, he said he needs to know my thought process because he will work with me. I started asking him similar questions, he said he won't answer because it's not his interview. I said I also need to know your thought process because we'll work together, so you should also answer these questions, he had no reply.

4. The interviewer asked me about a challenging project that I had done recently. I don't like this question at all. So I said there wasn't any challenging project because I'm good at what I do so it's always easy for me. He moved on to the next question.

5. HR asked me why I resigned without an offer? I asked if it's mandatory? No reply.

Not sure whether this is something to tom-tom about. Talks more about the quality of interviewer & the approach taken by the person.   
  
 To be honest, they're well within their right to ask you a tough question and/or to test your thought process, that's their job. If you get so easily offended, you're probably not going to fit in, in the long term.  
  
 I'm sure there are better ways to communicate that the interviewer is asking you a lame question or there's insufficient information.  
  
 Honestly, I take tons of interviews, an hour spent interviewing is an hour spent not doing actual work and drop in productivity. Doubt if senior people would ever do this to waste 'their' time... (Forget yours). Sensible people wouldn't.  
  
 No offense, but with so many interviews going this way, maybe time to point the mirror the other way...

1. How much Runway you have and what is the key reason you are not profitable (in case they are not)
2. Is this a newly opened position, if not, why did the last person left?
3. What’s your attrition rate, and how open are you in terms to taking feedback?

I know there are ways to just pass these questions however it gives you a better picture about the org, what are you some questions that one should start asking?

Recruiters and People who see through a lot of resumes!

What is a good resume and tips to build an ATS friendly Resume. Any key or specific things a recruiter or hiring manager wants to see in resume.
Also with so much fuss about layouts and Cover letters, does this really matter when it comes to actual shortlisting for interview?

Resume help!!

The current startup tech employees and founders are filled with so much junkies who do not care about the product at all.

The culture is set when the startup is founded,when the first set of employees arrive.  These folks are some of the most driven and talented and that's fine, it's how it should be.

But the problem begins when these folks do not find their own hiring strategy and copy the hiring strategy of other companies.

Instead of analysing what works best for them they justify their hiring means by saying this is what other have done.

The result is you get a bunch of leetcode warriors who are always wanting to jump ships when given opportunity, never forming deep knowledge about their industry and their product.

I work in one of the legacy tech companies, sure we do not hire the best people but we nurture them and that earns loyalty and long careers in our company. 

Even the employees have a very 360 degree view wrt product. We always deeply care about our product. 

Tbh I love seeing the stupidity of the market and it makes me happy that more confident that these people are wrong and always will be. 

Even the Indian startups are unoriginal and copied from the west then how do you expect the hiring to be unique. We are all living in the circus where jokers are supporting each other in making the circus bigger.
