I've currently 2.5y of Experience as Software Engineer in Accenture but I played many roles in project - Testing, Development, Client Demos.

Now I'm just lost whichvdirection should I go considering it has good future and not over saturated/fear of being replaced by AI?

Hi folks, looking seriously for a job switch as a PM primarily in the fintech space.

Highlights about myself:
-> I have ~ 3.5 years of work ex.
-> Entrepreneurial stint in the wealth management space where we were trying to build an AI assistant to automate everyone' s personal finance. 
-> MBA From ISB post closing the startup due to regulatory slowdown 
-> Wanted to get a PM role in the campus placement but, due to market conditions, got a job as program manager in a lending startup. I had high hopes from it but it turned out to be utter disappointment on many levels. 

I know the market is not great right now but I am optimistic that it's not that bad. 

Any help or referral would be really appreciated :)

While over the years, I was chasing Investment Banking and Consulting roles, realised how underrated AM is as a profession.

Surely not as lucrative as IBD in terms of pay and prestige, but it is a sweet career path. The anxiety due to working into consulting became unbearable after a certain point and I realised that it's good, the growth is nice with decent pay but I don't think I can handle the stress of clocking 60+ hours a week and it's better to leave than being completely burned out.

In AM, I make much more than I used to make in consulting. I barely work 40-42 hours a week compared to 60+ in my consulting days with much more job stability and a better work environment. It's not all roses. There are days when there is a bit of pressure but these days are far and few in between and are much less brutal. I have enough time now to do whatever I want. Gym in the morning. Office at 10 and a game of tennis is the evening after work. Not to mention, I have enough time to spend with family.

I talk to my friends working in IBD on a daily basis and frequent rants about poor quality of life is now a part of our daily conversations.

I finally reached at a point when I realised that I should stop running after higher pay and start considering other aspects of life. Not saying that one should stop chasing money, but just the compensation should not be the only factor. All that money is of no use when you don't have the time to spend it with the same set of people you are earning this money for.

Left my Consulting job and moved to Asset Management. One of the best career decisions I have made.

I am getting opportunities to do an MBA in tier 2 colleges like IIT Roorkee, IIT Kanpur, IIM Nagpur etc
Should I consider them or should I take a drop for a Tier1 MBA or should I continue to grow workex and switch in IT domain only ?

It would be easy to find out who I am if I say anything more but I have worked in cross-collaborative roles across my careers spanning multiple decades in Big4s. I have led several projects for Govt of India and Public Sector Organizations. Personally I have worked in multidisciplinary fields mostly in IT and Databases. I am deeply worried, to the extent of feeling depressed, about my career trajectory. I feel I made a mistake by switching tracks via doing an MBA with 10 yrs exp. I was a QA for a decade and tried a lot to break into PO roles( worked in a product based org on mobile apps for 6 years). It did not work and the director of PM advised me to do the one year fulltime MBA. Not sure why I gave in to his advice, but I gave GMAT and began with an 18 month Full time program at a Tier-1 Bschool. Cracked placement in the first go but got into IT services( not in WITCH), and now I am stuck being a PMO for a client.
Even when I look at my resume, I see a crappy profile, everything is disjointed and makes no sense now. No wonder I get no calls.
I don't want to go back to QA, this Project Management work is shitty( cannot see any learning happening, but the client is happy so I'm stuck in this project. )
I want to move to PM, thinking maybe CSPM can help, not sure where I am headed. 
Any guidance for this middle aged dinosaur 😞

Hello!

I'm standing at a career crossroads and could really use some perspective.
Profile : 
-YOE-3yrs. 
-2 years in a technical role and
- 1year working as a Project manager in a well known MNC.
- Graduated from a well-known T-2 college engineering college. 

I've always wanted to be in a managerial role. I feel like I'd definitely do better in such a role, in the long run.

I'm considering going for an MBA at ISB, but – the idea of taking on a 45-lakh loan is giving me pause. Coming from a middle-class background, it's a significant financial commitment. 

Plus, the job outlook for Product roles is fuzzy, and I'm not entirely sold on the consulting scene either. 
The big question is whether an MBA from ISB would really pay off. 

If you've gone through a similar decision-making process or have insights, navigating a career shift post-MBA, or just general advice on making a call like this, I'd love to hear what you have to say.

Hi guys, 
I have between 5-6 years of experience in engineering role (QA/Test automation). However over these years I have found the role to be unfulfilling due to the growth, impact and visibility. 
I have been considering going for a full time executive MBA (In India/Abroad) to switch into a PM/Strategy role.

What is the future scope of the PM job role...will it still be relevant after 10 years, Is going to IIMs spending close to 25 lakhs in this economy to get into a PM job role justified??
Context: I know many people will say you don't need IIM to break into PM, But considering I'm a 25 Male, from tier 3 college...currently working as a product designer with 8 lpa...so I think the only way to reach 25-30 lpa in hand by 28 is by joining IIMs

What is one career mistake or decision you’re glad you avoided?

One of the best decisions I made was dodging my ex-manager when she moved to CTS as an SD. She pulled her entire previous team under her, tried her best to convince me too, but I’d had enough from the last program and stayed clear, dint go. Now, all those who followed her are struggling, except her little favorites. She joined as a Director and fast-tracked to SD by setting up a COE in just one year. Meanwhile, the others are stuck in a mess, listening to her “I gave you life, be grateful” speech like modern-day slaves, caught between a rock and a “please worship me” wall. that’s one circus I’m glad I skipped!🤣🤣🤣 
  
 From that point on, I decided no more chasing after previous managers. You’ll just end up stuck forever, hearing the classic “I gave you life, I brought you here, and now you’ve betrayed me” drama. Not falling for that trap🤩!
