I need advice on how much I should ask for yearly Increment. I am in a product based company as an MLOps Engineer and I am completing 1 year here. Total YoE 2 years. My current base is 18LPA. 

My work has been excellent for the past year, my manager is very happy with my work and my quarterly review has been good too. I need your advice on much yearly Increment should I ask. 

I have never been on such calls and I am feeling a bit nervous 😅. Any advice on how I should approach this call would be very helpful.

I know I deserve more, as I have been constantly delivering more than what's expected out of me. But I still feel - I'm not compensated well for my hard-work and skill. 

My take-home is 20+LPA, and I have 6 yrs of experience.

And moreover the workplace is not challenging anymore for me as an individual contributor. Most of my time rn is getting spent in training other people. 

I have contemplating to ask for a hike. Or should I just switch?

I’m a software engineer at a mid size company. I have 1y3mo of work ex. Appraisals are around the corner, and although the work is great, the pay not so much. I earn less than 10LPA. How much of a hike should I deserve in this market assuming I have done a good job.

I work for a early stage startup (A) right now since about 1.5yrs at base 18lpa (no appraisal since my tenure even though I was told they have a bi-annual cycle, but It never happened)

I have another company (B), willing to offer base 28lpa (but will require relocation). 

I still haven't interviewed at B, and was wondering if i can should talk to A asking for an appraisal? I'm also not sure if i should mention about B at all. 

How much i understand A will be like let us launch something and then we can talk about appraisals, but this has been going on since a year now and we tend to change the architecture or the methodology everytime we almost have something ready to ship. 


That being said still I'd rather stay at A than relocate for B at the moment. 

How should I go about this, any suggestions? TIA

I have been working as a frontend developer on a contract basis in one of the #maang, my toatal experience is 2 years and my appraisal is due this week, I have been working on some really good projects handling all at once and working from scratch in one of the projects, I want that my increment to be very nice, as my current package is very low. I need some tips for the negotiations........provide some good tips for that.

I have 5YoE in the current company, and about 7 years overall. I bring specific domain knowledge to the team, as I have a PhD in Science. 
The regular increment is 10% even with performance exceeding expectations. 

I am considering branching off and starting my own business. Last year I made around 6 lakhs by freelancing. That too without any active marketing and advertising. 

What should be the best course of action?.

I see people boasting about a 20% increment, but I understand that they're experienced professionals. 

I know that something more than 5 would be good enough(?) as I still have the imposter syndrome, but let me know how much one should expect if it's quarterly, and after 1 year.

Can I ask for 60-70% of fixed hike which is around 22.5 L - 23.5 L fixed or even more ?

Have spent around 8 months in the current company as a PM started giving interviews last week got 6 calls about to successfully convert one of them with many more companies lined up.

Have been asking for 100% hike for salary correction as per market standards but companies are not even ready to give even 50% hike.

Have you guys been facing the same issue ?

I'm working as a Frontend developer (SDE-1) with 1.5yoe, I joined this startup 4 months back. Earlier I was getting paid 9lpa and later I was offered 12lpa without even asking for my previous compensation. I accepted because my earlier organisation was very toxic. Now coming to the point, 

I came to know that for the same level and same role they're paying 16+lpa. And this is making me mad at them. 

Within 3 months I'm handling 1 of their 2 products (customer facing) all alone. And I'm doing great work tbh (not boasting) but if they have 10 major features. I have developed 4 of them all alone, solved really critical down time bugs and improved the product. 

Now I own this product and if any bugs come, I'm the person who's assigned the work.

I want to have a chat with the Founder but I'm not sure what to say and he's a guy who will try to save the money at all costs. 

I'm really mad at this point of time and I'm planning to leave in a few months. 

If I have a chat with him and he says something harsh, I will resign then and there I'm triggered to this level. 

And there was no kind of appreciation from them, I'm taking most tickets during the sprints and delivering quality code, communicating well and thinking in terms of product, if there is anything which can be improved I ask from them.

How do I have a chat with him and what do I say?

Expected CTC - 16 - 20lpa
YOE- 1.5 (planning to have the call around 3-4 months later), so I will be almost 2 yoe by then.

Hey all, so I've done my Engg. in automobile and after that got an opportunity to work at XYZ company as an Analyst in "Master Data Management" domain almost completing two years now (usually work on automobile components data for the company's e-commerce website, where we sell the parts). 

Now, my manager has approached me to take up this project/process "Supplier Risk and Sustainability Management", which is very different from what I do currently. Mind you, I worked on this project temporarily for a quarter last year, as it was new to India. 

The company hired a person for that project and he took over, now the thing is he has put down his papers, and business owners now want me in their team. While my pay is just 27k, I asked them that I need at least 55-60k in hand, but my manager said it might not be possible, at max 15-20% increase.


Fam, please guide me on what should I do here, and what is the future scope for this role, while being from an Engg. background. 
(My goal is to work on Manufacturing x Data Analytics)

Background: I work in a D2C consumer product startup, we have an in-house website and a growing tech team of 7 people. The whole business team is 100+. I'm a '23 grad from a tier 1 engineering college.

I joined the company back in September when the job market was at the bottom and I had to take a 40% pay cut (21LPA to 12LPA) (while switching (the last company ran out of funding). I was at a higher than avg base in my previous role but the current role is 20% below the average. (15LPA) The company is in a growth stage and lots of processes are yet to be defined which leads to a lot of chaos but I get a lot of freedom as well.

My manager is aware of the whole situation and we had also negotiated a 6-month review for ESOP allotment. My monthly reviews have been going well and we have shipped some good improvements and features over the last few months.

I joined a start-up (SDE 1) after working in an IT service giant (one of the WITCH) for the past 2 years. There we didn't have any discussion regarding the amount of raise expected, they used to just assign us the percentage (peanuts) that they felt.

Here in the start-up I have heard that we have a say about how much % increase we are expecting post review cycle. I have some questions,

1. Do managers generally know about their subordinate's salary?
2. If not, then how do such discussions take place? Just based on % increment?
3. Or Only feedback is discussed with the manager and salary negotiation is done with HR (who knows my salary)?

What kinds of salary increments are expected during an APR (with/without promotion) if one’s base salary is 18LPA?

I want to gather a general understanding of how increments work in big tech companies and unicorn startups.

Currently working with series A startup as product marketing manager at 23lpa. Joined them in july at near zero increment because last company shut down. Have proven my metal here and getting extra responsibilities.
