You're not family

Microsoft has lost all respect from me today. Guys please spread the word so that all come to know reality. I am writing this post on behalf of my friend who is still in bad mood having mental trauma. Yesterday my friend from Microsoft was let go from his job in India. He was being pressurised to write relieving letter saying he was quitting at his own will and that the HR apparently said if he didn't write the email in next half or 1 hour he won't be getting any severance or benefits by Microsoft India. Wait..who does this to an employee? He was so tensed yesterday that he is leaving for his hometown in few days, he doest want to do any job for some time, he was literally crying. He said the ones who didnt got laid off have lost the will to work. His friends who got fired are crying as it was least expected from Microsoft. imo even amazon and sf handled the indian layoffs in a better way than Microsoft. Other then that Microsoft peeps are not allowed to write anything rubbish on social media. You can yourself see 3 rounds of layoff have happened in India and you will rarelly see any post yet on LinkedIn. Just imagine to what extent these firms are going to save their image. 😵‍💫🥺 msft used to have best people culture but now its something unimaginable😣

Why do some companies hire via third party payroll. Secondly what things a person shall be wary of before joining on thir party payroll

I recently laid off, sometime ago. I was privileged enough so didn't really complained about it. But what i realised is: "Everyone should get laid off once in a lifetime." Reason being you stop being emotional about your job. Some people have a habit to treat job as a the only purpose their life has. Basically job gives them the validation which they never received from anyone. Also you realize the hard truth that you are just a number. "Resource" as they aptly call you. You realize your life has many dimensions than just serving someone. Quite an experience i would say, Kuch din to guzariyen lay offs mein!

The economy went down? Yes. Did it affect all kinds of companies? Yes Did the banks fire any one? No Did the Railways fire anyone? No Did the media agencies fire anyone? No Did Large Tech companies and IT fire people? Absolutely yes Tech is the most ruthless-stupid sector that is so flimsy and short sighted that it doesn't care jack-shit about employees Tech companies will pay employees large salaries in a heartbeat, they'll hire 1000s of them and then fire 100s of them in a heartbeat destroying careers. Sigh!

I got laid off within 5 months of joining the company as a Fresher it was my first job during PG I was under training for 1-1.5 months and got shifted to the actual work department due to requirements in that department. I was under probation for 3 months but the period extended for 1 month due to PG exams. I eventually worked with determination as it was my first job I even worked on weekends and sacrificed my health sleep for that job yes I accept i made some mistakes and was not able to adhere to the tight deadlines sometimes. My manager used to call me and used to tell me that he is not seeing any improvement in my performance also said or else he had to escalate this matter to the senior managers. I was giving my best working late nights even skipping my meals to finish the work on time also the deadlines got tighter and tighter. When the probation period got over i received a call from hr telling we have to part ways the time taken for completing a task is longer the performance was not up to the mark. she also told if you don't resign you'll be blacklisted and would face consequences. After listening to this I was heartbroken despite working with honesty and determination I was not confirmed. My peers who joined the organization with me got confirmed for that position. I am looking for another job and facing questions like why you left the previous job as a fresher I have no idea what to say. I am not sure about the next job i don't want to face this situation again it destroys mental peace, confidence and develops self doubt what should I do I am vulnerable......

I currently work in a project that is driven by CEO and he is very intimidating. I work my ass off to make sure he gets what expects but today he was especially aggressive during the call. After the call I asked him to wait up for two mins and started telling him that I am getting intimidated by him. Although he was nice to me when I confronted him, now I am feeling embarrassed because I broke down a little when I spoke. Tears started flowing and I am feeling like a weak person. Just fyi I am an adult male.

Hey Folks, I’m in a phase where I have decided to move out from my present company. My present company is very dear to me as it gave me the taste of what success looks like. Honestly, I would have never made it had I not received the support and backing that I got here. I don’t know if I am making the correct decision. Emotions are literally overflowing. One side of mine tells me that I am making the wrong decision whereas the other side is excited to see what future holds for me. Literally anxious of all the thoughts that are crossing my mind. What if , I am not able to perform at my next company ? What if , they decide to hire me and then not honour their offer letter ? What if, the company has a mass layoff and I am impacted ? All these thoughts are literally eating me from inside. Any suggestions on how can I handle the same ?
